Great thread that I'll be checking periodically for updates. I've just been turned onto fitnessblender and blogilates recently and am enjoying many of their videos. I'll be checking out others mentioned on here. It's nice to have variety on my home days!

Listen to your body. When it's getting easy, it's time to take it up a notch. You should always feel like you're pushing yourself, but not hurting yourself or overdoing it.

This sounds and looks delicious! Thanks for the great snack idea!

I second the comments about body type and how you carry your weight... That being said, I'm 5'7.5". At my heaviest (197) I wore size 18. I think I was in size 16 pretty much through the 180s, then dropped down to 14 in the 170s. I now wear 12-14 (depends on the brand, cut, etc.) and anywhere from M-XL in tops.

This sounds delicious! Definitely going to have to try!

I'm going to try her video on one of my home workout days. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, your story and selfless love are very touching and inspiring! Congratulations on taking the first step to getting healthy. Don't just do it for your brother though, do it for yourself and your new, adorable baby!! Logging your food as accurately as possible and moving as frequently as possible will go a long way in…

I love funny mysteries. I'll definitely check out this series. Thanks for the recommendation. :-) P.S. Do you read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich? Some of those books make me laugh until I cry.

Anchorage, my home town!! Wish I could be up there in June!

Haha, I feel your pain. I only worked out once last week due to being sick and it has felt like pure heaven getting back to the gym this week! I get completely out of sorts when I miss too many workouts!

You may not see much change initially, but over a period of time you'll see noticeable changes in your body even when you don't feel like much is going on.

There are some great suggestions on here which I'll be referring back to to shake things up on occasion.

You're welcome! Hope you all find some good authors/series as well.

I usually set a limit, i.e. if it doesn't improve by page 100, I'm done! I can only take so much torture and there are just too many good books to be read and not enough free time in which to read them!

My success story is a work in progress, but I feel good and I feel healthy, so I still count it as a success! I'm 43 yrs old and 5'7.5". I hit my highest weight of 197 a couple years ago and just felt completely depressed, out of shape, and unhappy with myself. I then began my current journey and got down to 165 last year,…

What an amazing transformation you have undergone! All of your hard work has really paid off and I totally agree with you about the gift you've given yourself and your family - a healthy, active you! You look amazing!

I'm on my phone and marking this thread to come back to later. I see many kindred spirits (and bodies) here.

Me too! I'm fair skinned and I live in FL, and the heat and humidity make it much worse. My face sometimes gets so hot and red that it's actually painful. On gym days I splash my face and neck with cold water after my cardio. On home or outside workout days I fill a sink with ice and water and dunk my face until it cools…

My heart is breaking for you and your family. Wishing your dad, you, and all of your loved ones peace.

Great post! Logging everything helps me a lot. As soon as I stop logging, I very quickly start eating too many calories because I just don't realize how much I'm eating! Also, drinking lots of water and eating a little something (yogurt or a banana or apple, etc.) between meals so that I'm eating every 2-3 hours. This…

Way to make use of that commercial time! Every little bit adds up and helps.

Congratulations! What an inspiration! I love your story and, most of all, I love your positive attitude.

You're doing something right since your measurements are going down. Start tracking your measurements each month. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you're probably gaining muscle, which is good - it will help burn fat.

I'm glad you asked this question since I've been wondering the same thing.

We were warned when we got him that tiels are like 2-yr-olds, and I think that was a perfect description for our guy. He's so temperamental! But he's also a sweet little guy when he's not acting like a little booger. :smooched:
