How do I know when Im ready for more?

Hi everyone! Im new to working out and have recently been doing Leslie Sansone walk at home workouts that I found on youtube. They are great! Ive lost some weight and I can feel myself getting stronger. I have worked out a total of 19 days after not working out for a long time. Anyway I am currently doing her 2 mile walks on youtube and they are 30 minutes each. They are still hard for me. I am huffing and puffing (again big woman out of shape) but Im getting better. I am thinking next week I should work my way to her three mile. A few questions.
1) How do I know when I am ready? Once the 2 mile becomes too easy? Or can I move up even if the two mile is still a challenge for me?
2) Once I do begin to do her 3 mile work outs should I alternate between her 2 and 3 mile or just start doing two different 3 miles. (Im currently rotating between two 2 mile workouts)
Sorry to be so annoying Im just new to working out and I dont want to hurt myself but I do want to push myself. Im currently working out 6 days a week for 30 minutes a day.

Start now alternating between a 3 mile workout and a 2 mile workout. Give that a week and move to two 3 mile. The next jump is up to 5 miles, so you might want to wait a 2-3 weeks before changing it up.0

Listen to your body. When it's getting easy, it's time to take it up a notch. You should always feel like you're pushing yourself, but not hurting yourself or overdoing it.0
