I'll add you! I'm starting a 6 week program today to kick start my summer.

I'd say sign up for some 5k races. But basically just do what you want, and what feels good! Everyone is different and likes different distances. I started with C25K, and ran a ton of 5ks. Then I trained for the 10k. Now I am in love with half marathons. I'll make it to a full one day, but right now I just love 13.1! Have…

I feel like I am a better runner when I do more strength training and weights. Your legs may get tired and sore from it but you are just making those muscles better for running. I love yoga and still do it 5 nights a week. I also add in a barre class just when I feel like it. You have to do what you like and feels good for…

Yes it will help! Check out the Couch to 5k program. It's a great one to help you start running! Good luck :)

Outside all the time!! Luckily I live in Texas so I can run outside most of the year. And I love to run alone, but fun runs or my short runs it's nice to have a friend sometimes :)

I think it's a great idea! I'm actually already registered for 4 half marathons throughout the year. It keeps me motivated, and working towards a goal. Plus I can up the motivation if I want to better my time each race! You will need to up your mileage, but you have time to get it done. I use Runkeeper for my runs, and…

RUN! The couch to 5k is a great program, but its only for 3 miles and the TM is 12-15 miles depending on the course. When I did mine I trained for a half marathon, and added crossfit. I had to still walk some of the race. If you can run trails run them, and really cross train. TM is hard but FUN! I am hoping to do one next…

My first thought is what kind of shoes are you wearing?? A GOOD pair of workout shoes can make all the difference. If you have good shoes already, maybe just try and take it slow on the DVD. Eventually you'll be able to do the whole thing with no pain! Good luck!!

There is no way you could have 50% body fat being 5'4" and 130lbs. I am 5'2" and 140 and not even close to 50%. I have been needing a good scale for a while....so I'd like to hear some good recommendations too.

I haven't tried that, I will check it out. Thank you!!!

I slack on core work too! But I just started doing core work yoga at nights. I will start adding the plank in for a few minutes afterwards, that's such a great one that I always forget about.

I loved my Fitbit Flex! It was really motivating to get up more during the work day to get my steps in. I liked the sleep tracker as well. Unfortunately, after a year it pretty much just died. Stopped holding a charge for more than half a day, then just quit altogether :/ I've thought about getting another one, but I'm not…

I usually try and eat at least half my exercise calories back. I find when I eat them all back I don't lose any weight. But everyone is different, you have to listen to your body too. Are you still super hungry at the end of the day when you don't eat them back? Are you forcing yourself to eat them back even when you…

I am just about to start working out with a kettlebell at home as well. I found a TON of workouts with them on Pinterest....lol I'm sure you can find some online or on youtube as well.

^^Agreed!!

I am doing my 3rd Half March 22, and then my 4th March 28! I am registered for a total of 4 Half Marathons this year, my goal is to get a sub 2 by my last one in October!! Good luck to everyone in training, feel free to friend me!

I agree that abs are made in the kitchen. and strength training is very important, but you should probably up the cardio some too....you have to find that balance! Good luck!
-
Great job! You look amazing.
-
That's awesome!!! When I first started I couldn't make it half a mile without walking. Just keep it up and it'll get easier and you can go farther. Maybe look into the C25K program? I really liked it!!

I'm ready!!

Exercise while on your period is actually really good. It helps to relieve some of the symptoms. I have a hard time motivating myself to go at that time too, but I always feel SO much better afterwards. Just take it easy to begin with, see how your body feels.
-
Awesome!! Those are the best runs. Keep it up, you should do a half marathon soon!!
-
Everything every one had said I agree with! BUT also make sure to get good running shoes. They can make such a big difference for your knees. Try and go to a running store and have them check you out and get you fitted, if you haven't already. I can't tell you how finding the right shoe for me helped out SO much :) Have…

^This! I think you should probably pick one thing to really be your focus. You are a distance runner, how many big muscled runners do you see at Marathons? Probably not many. Could you do both? Yes. But it would be SO much work, and having more bulk muscle will slow you down in running.
-
You are doing great!! You can really tell a difference, keep it up girl :)

I wear a Spibelt, it's not big at all like a fanny pack but fits my phone, keys, and gels in no problem. It's hardly noticeable under a long tank or shirt!

I don't have anything super funny/scary but on one of my regular routes a lab who sits out front of his house chases me and barks for a block or two. He is always close enough to get me but never does, I think he just likes the chase so I've learned I don't even have to speed up he just keeps pace with me! It makes me…

DO IT! My first 5k was 36 minutes, and the last one I ran was 28:12! Every race I was able to take off a minute or two. You will not be the last person at all. And crossing that finish line is the best feeling....get ready to be addicted!!

I promise that you are not the only one with that problem. People can be cruel, you just have to remember that you are better than them, even if you aren't a size zero! I hope that myfitnesspal helps you out as it has many others!! Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like :) good luck
