  • I have two, one involving being drunk at the age of 16 and slipping on a deck off the side. Hobbled around for next two days before my mum decided I should go to docs. Ended up chipping the bone at end of fibula and being in a horrid cast for 8 weeks. The next one, I was having quite a nightmare one night. It got to the…

  • Yep sounds like blood sugars are dropping too low. Don't get tested for diabetes coz that won't work. Get blood glucose tested for hypoglycemia. Are you eating before you exercise? Enough protein to keep you going and to keep blood glucose more steady rather than peaks and troughs if carb heavy? Just some thoughts for you…
  • Yep I get that same issue too with the new recipe builder, it's hopeless and damn frustrating so I always go back to the old recipe builder, find that way less frustrating!
  • A mixture of counselling, exercise, possible medications will ALL help. I think it's very important to find out the WHY you are feeling low - is it because you don't have any alone time, do you need meds, has something happened in the past, etc etc. I have spent time with a psychologist, am on medications, got back into…
  • I thought Fire Engines went to put fire on houses and I was always fearful when seeing one zooming down the road with lights on they were going to MY house to burn it! Used to get very upset and cry lots whenever I saw one! I thought when you went overseas on an aeroplane that you had to sit on chairs on the wings and got…
  • Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Sometimes I go over cals, sometimes I don't. I'm still consistently losing weight. Do what works best for you and your lifestyle
  • I too have an autoimmune, Type 1 Diabetes that at times is like a rollercoaster trying to get stable blood glucose levels. Food, medication and exercise affects blood glucose levels not to mention emotional factors, hot hot days, other illness and even getting a spider bite on my finger the other week - everything has an…
  • I went to a psychologist during treatment for an eating disorder. Can't remember exactly what I was told (I too was unable to moderate) but what worked for me was not even going there. Not having foods in the house that were problem foods for me. Over time (and I mean it has been 6 years since I was actively seeing…
  • OMG hahahahahaha I just had to explain to my workmates why I was laughing so much. But then I thought about it. This sounds really genuine....coz if it wasn't surely you'd only be wanting a Monday to Friday daytime meets only girlfriend.....right????
  • Yep, I bet you're not eating anywhere near enough cals for your height and the amount of exercise you are doing. Also, hang in there, it takes me 6-10 weeks to see changes when I start new regimes. It will come, just be patient and carry on but eat more :)

  • Yep I logged and I went to the gym. I was under my cals on Christmas day but the day before was over by about 1,000 and that was with accurate logging. Was surprised when I got to the gym yesterday there were 3 others there and then another 2 turned up before I left. I was the only female there........obviously the blokes…

  • Superb progress! Thanks for sharing your progress so far. I think it really helps so much to see the journey as it happens as it's real and can be the boost someone needs who may be struggling to keep the journey going.
  • Welcome to you all! I have been an eating disorder survivor for nearly 5 years now (since I finished my intense therapy - had Bulimia for 15 years) but continued with the binge part of Bulimia but without the overexercising/purging. I have learned so much along the way. Some suggestions I can make to help you: Food is…

  • I have a scar running from behind my back to my belly button due to having my left kidney removed when I was 6 years old. I can twitch my nose like a bunny rabbit. I belly dance.
  • Hi Emily and welcome to this very helpful place. I've been Type 1 for 27 years and live in New Zealand! For me personally, I have my diary setup but have a separate area for 'other and hypoglycaemic corrections'. The other is for milk I use in coffee over the day and I add in here what I eat for those pesky lows. I include…
  • I was the FUGLY (fat and ugly) one with not many friends. I was extremely shy but then I discovered alcohol and how it gave me confidence and I could forget about all the nasty **** at home. Then I became the 16 year old who went to school drunk, the one who got so drunk and danced so hard at the social and arsed over in…
