I'm round. Round is a shape.

And I lift. And run. And do yoga. And bellydance.

I'm going with this answer, too. My husband says my body type is sexy. ( does that word need * in place of the 'e'.)

My second choice would be 'starfruit'

Exercise? Biking, gardening, walking, never running, lifting weights, calenthetics , drum-beating, stocking shelves at the grocery store, knitting, being forgetful(& going up and down the stairs in my house 10 times every hour trying to remember what I was going up/down for)

5'11", hourglass, average torso, long arms, 34" inseam, small frame. I don't want to change a thing about my body outside of the excess fat I'm carrying.

I don't exercise for my body type because despite what Tracy Anderson says, it's not necessary. I do what I will be consistent with and what gives me the results I'm looking for. I do a mixture of cardio, circuits, and resistance routines using bodyweight, weights, and/or bands. I've tried other types of workouts, but they just didn't fly.

Outside of structured exercise, I don't own a vehicle and get in a lot of walking as I walk or transit everywhere. Also, I'm single and though my mom lives with me, she is disabled. Anything that needs lifting or carrying falls to me. I call it organic strength training. :)

probably a good thing- Tracy Anderson is an idiot.

    A BMW..... burly mountain woman.

But seriously, I guess you can say, I am an hourglass shape... when I'm in shape... but that's stretching it because I'm shortwaisted...

Hourglass. I lift heavy, full body, 3x a week. I naturally have a balanced musculature so I design my workouts to keep it that way.

If you are a pear, you could consider emphasizing upper back/lat exercises to broaden out your topside to balance your bottom. Or just do full body and embrace the pear (a desirable shape according to many men and women lol).

    ^this.
  • I have no clue. I am distributed evenly. Nothing is out of whack. Just a big girl :) I work out legs 2 a week upper once and cardio daily.
  • Hourglass. I did 4 day splits between upper/lower body workouts until recently where I've switched to full body 5 times a week. Far superior results with this method. I lift mostly, but fit in cardio on the stairmaster and a lot of TRX.

As a pear I've been trying to tone my butt. I love how big it is, I just want it firmer and to look better overall.

My waist is my best asset though

Hourglass. I just measured this morning and I know I am. 39-30-39. I really liked Brazil Butt Lift, Turbo Fire, and Blogliates, but I don't do it for my body type. Right now I'm just trying to slim down. I still do weight training, but not to tone a specific part. I'm not sure where I'll lose yet (I know it comes off wherever it wants), so I'm not sure what body type I'll be when I get closer to my goal. But I was more of an inverted triangle before I gained the weight. I'm hoping I keep my hourglass figure this time though. Lots of squats I guess!

I'm an hourglass. I do the same exercises everyone else does. The idea that there are exercises specific to body types is silliness.

    I agree.
It's as silly as eating for a specific blood type.

My routine? I lift heavy and do cardio. When I lose weight, I lose it all over.

Ohhhhh, I love this! I like to tell people I'm a draft human, 'cause I'm sturdy and apparently built for heavy labor. I'm actually not; I have dainty hands/wrists/ankles, but everywhere else, I'm a stone cold ox.

Hmmm. Do men sit around and discuss what body type they are? I'm really wondering if this is strictly a woman thing.

Oh yes. Very much this. Extra special good because even when you misspelled it, Ural is what I read, like the mountains, because I studied Russian in school.

I'm an hourglass. :) Big breasts, small waist, big hips and a big butt. I'm trying to become a smaller one though.
