Loved my Buick! Put over 255,000 miles on it before the body started going. The engine--a 3800 is AMAZING! Great mileage, but not a show stopper--just a nice comfy ride. Son's got a Chevy Impala that's pushing 300,000 still looks and runs great. As for dream cars-- a 57' Chevy Bel Air -- a '66 Mustang blue with white broad…

I'm almost 20 months out from a Sleeve Gastrectomy. MFP has been a God send for me. I'm so thankful someone shared it with me. I've met some amazingly supportive people. It helped me get things rolling again after a major stall and a high stress time in my life. I've still got quite a ways to go, but am working on it.

I think that sometimes we have "personal blinders". We have looked in that mirror so often hoping to see change that when it is there we ourselves miss it. I agree with some of the others post a before and a now picture here--I bet many here will notice. Are you comparing similar posed pictures at about the same distance…

I'm 19 months out from a sleeve gastrectomy. I still struggle with getting in the amount of fluids, but I think it's because i don't think about it. I love tea. I do better having enough fluid when I have tea but want to work on just more plain ol' water. Haven't had soft drinks in several years now other than occasionally…

Congratulations on your amazing loss! :) I don't qualify to the original poster's topic (as I have not achieved a 100 pound loss and I have had surgery), but I have battled the weight battle most of my life. I've lost a lot of weight (75 to 80 lbs) and gained it back and then some several times (before surgery). I just…

Thanks for giving back to MFP your help is and will be appreciated by many. :)

My go to breakfast lately is a one egg ham and cheese omlette (1 large egg, a little splash of milk, 1 slice of ham luncheon meat and a piece and a half of 2% American cheese). As for lunch I don't know that I really have a go to for lunch. I go in streaks--sometimes I make salads other times have leftovers, or a 1/2 or a…

Hi Sue. You have a lot of amazing advice and support already, and I’m sure I’m repeating some of what you’ve already heard. You’ve done the hard part making a decision to change. First of all you don’t need “a diet.” To me “a diet” becomes something you are on—which means something you can go off. What you need is a…

Oh my goodness; I didn't get through all 18 pages of suggesstions to know what all has been recommended already. There are a lot of avid book fans here on MFP! :) I don't know how a body can pick just one! A genre you like would be helpful. You mentioned classics- here are some you might want to consider: George Orwell's…

Beautifully done!

Congrats on your progress. I am so thankful for this site and the wonderful supportive friends who are on this journey with me. I think I'd be floundering more than ever without their help and MFP. It is such a blessing for me.

Hugs for you!!! You are amazing and I am so proud that you stood your ground while handling the situation admirably. I've had a silmilar experience when shopping for my daughter who is about a size 3. The woman tried to show me the women's section. I told her I may not be able to fit these sizes; however I'm shopping for…

My daughter just got one for an early birthday present. I'm excited to find more out about it to determine whether I should save for one.

What a fabulous start to your journey! Keep up the consistent work and your eyes focused on that goal. You'll get there one step at a time. :) Confatualtions on the progress you've made thus far.

That's fabulous! I would be doing a happy dance at that point! I have a ways to go to get there.

I so can relate to stress eating; especially when taking classes. As for well balanced--there tends to be many schools of thought on what that actually looks like. Keep fresh veggies, fruits, nuts, whole grain cereals (some you like without milk and can just munch on) and things like that on hand for snacking instead of…
