I started off at 220 lbs, 5'4.5" - pretty sure I was well over 40% bodyfat. I recall my wrist measurement being 7".
I am now 150 lbs, 5'5" (all that weight isn't holding me down anymore and I stand taller) and my bodyfat is more around 23-24%. My wrist measures 6.25" - so I definitely qualify as a medium to large framed woman. The beautiful thing is - even though I have a larger frame (very athletic build) - the addition of heavy lifting to my routine has made me wayyy more compact than I ever imagined. I'm even taking a size 6 in pants/jeans now - never thought that was even POSSIBLE given my shape/size. So let it be known - just because you may be considered "large frame" doesn't mean you have to settle for large sizes or higher weights. It can be done. I've lost 70 lbs by eating 1600-1800 cals (or more) each day and not over-exercising, but working out smarter.
These "before" body pics were from last year in August - 187 lbs or so and 36% bodyfat (as best as I could tell) - so I was much larger than this when I began - just never took photos because I was ashamed.
and this is NOW! And I have a LOT of moosles hidden under them clothes.

I joined MFP when I had lost about 30lbs and am currently down a little over 50lbs. The picture on the left was around 280.. or more.. and the one on the right is the same shirt about 40 lbs lighter. Thank goodness! Definitely a large frame, will probably always have one, but when I'm down the full 120 I think I will have a shape to be proud of.

I did the wrist test. I have two inches between fingers. I definatly have a large frame.0

Here is my before and during. I still have a long way to go. I'm 5'8 and I want to get down to 180 and see how I like it there before I decide to go down more. I want to be curvy but fit.

Well, I started with diet first in late 2010....then added in some light intensity exercise (i.e. walking, then jogging eventually) in mid 2011. Then started doing TurboFire and Chalean Extreme in late 2011. Lost most of the weight by January 2012 (60#). Then started lifting in March and have lost only 10# this year (since January) but went from sz 10/12 to sz 6/small 8. The heavy lifting is what really changed my body in terms of making it look better - more compact, curvy but not just fatty curvy, strong curvy. I'd tell anyone to start lifting right away (wish I had known when I first started) because it makes SUCH a difference in the outcome of how your body will look (i.e. "skinny fat" or "lean and fit"). I rarely do cardio now (like never) - I pretty much stopped cardio in the spring/summer. Okay, sorry, I rabbit-trailed. But yeah - the end of 2010 I was wearing sz 18-pushing a 20, the end of 2011 - I was sz 10/12, and the end of 2012 I will be a solid 6. I stopped focusing on the pounds on the scale once I hit 160# since I knew I was more interested in my body fat percentage going down.0 -

These stories are so inspiring. I am over 5'9" and consider myself to be large frame. My wrist is 6 3/4 in. I know when I was thinner, though, it was quite a bit smaller. Not sure how accurate the whole wrist size thing is considering some people (like me) do have fat wrists...lol. Thanks for sharing everyone. I am officially inspired!!0

Large FRAME- what exactly is that? I know that there is a formula (certain measurements, etc..) to determine if you really do have a large frame or big boned, etc... How do you know.
In my mind I have a large frame. I am 5'7" and have broad shoulders, wide rib cage,thunder thighs, and huge (ugly) hands and feet.
