Tide free & gentle. And a 943g bag of Cadbury mini eggs. Oops.

I've seen that advice still today as it prevents the snorer from sleeping on their back. In my case it wouldn't have helped. He snored in every position -- back, side, stomach, sitting on the couch.
-
He'd get lucky more often if he remembered half that *kitten*. Just a thought.

Agreed. My SO was much the same although he acknowledged that he snored, he just laughed it off like it was some kind of superpower to be proud of. Even his hunting buddies complained about it. He also refused any medical solutions. His dentist made him some kind of mouthpiece to wear at night, he wore it for about 10…

No. After all, I took Zyban to help me quit smoking when the good old "gee, just stop smoking" approach didn't work. I don't care how I achieved ex-smoker status, just that I did it. I wouldn't like to see weight loss meds prescribed without some sort of behavioural modification/dietary education program being delivered…

An oat fudge square from the swanky coffee shop up the street from my office. Because oat = healthy. And they were already sold out of the special Valentines cookies.

Right before each new load. Doesn't really matter since I'm the only one using the dryer anyway.

I am NOT a morning person, I prefer to communicate entirely in grunts before 9 AM, but I work out first thing in the morning. Roll out of bed, let dogs out, feed dogs and head downstairs to the home gym. Then I shower and go to work. Weather/season permitting I'll do a 3+ mile walk at lunch. For me, morning is the only…

I have heard a doctor recommend tying a string around your waist to remind you to maintain good posture and keep your core engaged. I guess when you slouch the string will feel too tight? (Now I might need to test this out...)

Now you're bringing back a memory from 7th grade of a female student who was quite obese, unusual in 1975 as I only remember two overweight kids in my year. She had things that might have been acupuncture needles in each ear that she had to twiddle occasionally. She said they were for weight loss. I assume their effect was…

I'm SO glad you kept it! That dress is gorgeous and you are going to look stunning! (I might be living vicariously here because it's been years since I dressed up fancy)

Ohhh it's just a new jazzed-up name, like how cold cuts are now called charcuterie. Ooh la la.
-
Dare Veggie Crisps And now I'm feeling like I might not be a grown-up after all because I have NO idea what Sous Vide cooking is. Although if it's a meat thing my ignorance may be forgivable since I don't eat meat.

Veterinary exams and various shots for two dogs, plus a nail trim, anti-inflammatories and glucosamine chewies for the senior gal.

The only places requiring masks here now are hospital settings and doctors' offices. (Probably long term care homes too but I never go in one so can't say for sure) I was holding out for the bivalent vaccine to get my second booster/4th shot and a couple days after it became available here I got Covid. The guideline here…

I got married (and divorced) quite young because in the 80s that was the natural evolution of a long-term relationship. Relationships that had endured for a period of time had to "go somewhere", they couldn't just BE what they were. We had already been living together for about two years so marriage was the inevitable next…

And give you rave reviews on Amazon! Not a resolutioner. Most immediate goal is to finish tearing out the carpet in my office at home. Which needs to be done before next project can start since it involves the sewing machine, which is in the office.

That magazine and Women's Weekly never cease to amaze me. Week after week their covers promise big weight loss, less stress and better sleep. I just wonder how their writers can repackage the same garbage over and over again.

Good for you for sticking to your wishes! A friend of mine had a similar argument with her OBGYN with regard to having an ovarian cyst removed vs whipping out the ovaries themselves. My friend has done a lot of research and it seems the ovaries still produce small amounts of hormones even in menopause so she wanted to keep…

And the artful placement of a small array of succulents just makes the whole experience look so darned spa-like.

I think 25% and 30% should be switched too! Huge difference in appearance between a shredded 10-12% and an anorexic 10-12% too. I'm sure not all super low BF women are bodybuilders.

Also "not a youngster any more" and don't have much of a butt :) My rear view definitely improves with pants that are cut smaller in the rear otherwise the extra fabric just sort of hangs unattractively and all suggestion of a shape vanishes. I have a pair of Jessica Simpson jean-style pants that are either very fine wale…

No gym holidays for me, it's in my basement and I'm down there first thing every morning. The SO is at work so thankfully no standing around an Asian restaurant waiting for takeout (his NYE tradition). I can just stay home, eat a normal meal and most likely go to bed before midnight. No fuss.

So I scroll up on this very page and see an ad for "XL to M in two weeks challenge" from some outfit called Unimeal. Yeah, not happening. The only thing that's going to downsize that much in two weeks is your wallet.

My kitchen IS blue. :D Blue is supposed to be a calming colour and I wanted all the help I could get since I'm not a morning person and I'm hanging out in the kitchen.

We jump all over posters here for using the word "toning" but I see it all the time on the cover headlines of fitness magazines and I cringe. Yes, women's fitness magazines, I don't think they'd reel in too many male readers with blurbs like "6 exercises to tone your abs" or "Effective toning in just 15 minutes a day". I…

For reference the SO at 6'9" needs to stay below 240 to keep his A1C out of prediabetic range. I think 220 is the top end of normal weight for him on the BMI.

Not sure my advice will be any use to you as I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum with super narrow feet and my main concern is arch support. My summer hiking boots are Merrells. Not as narrow as I'd like but excellent arch and ankle support. I just bought a pair of Keen winter "hikers" that are rated to -40, primarily…

This is me. I never worked from home and life felt pretty normal with my usual routines. My "commute", which is 14 minutes at its worst, dropped to 8 minutes with less traffic on the roads. 80% of my organization did work from home at the height of the pandemic so the office was a lot nicer with less people in it. My…

Procrastinating (that's almost always going to be my answer) about making a cheesecake.
