Hi there, I'm starting a new weightloss and fitness regime too. I'm 35 later this year and have put on weight since having a foot operation. I want to get back into shape and lose a stone before a trip in April. I'm also in Surrey. Can I friend you?

I struggle with evening snacking andf I'm sure it's boredom, habit, mindless eating. I've strated having dinner a little later, trying not to have any snack food in the house as if you can't be bothered to cook something then you can't be that hungry. Also I do a home workout dvd after 9pm so that it deters me from eating…

Dependin on where you are you may not have heard of her, but I have done Davina McCall workout dvd's for a while now and they're great as you don't get bored and you get great body tone if you do them regularly. These involve own body weight and cardio exercises as well as some dumbell work. I also have a step and do that…

If your knees hurt then you need to raise your saddle :-)

Gyms really can be intimidating for women as all the weight sections normally have groups of guys who all seem to know each other and have lived in the free weights area for years. That said, I'm a 32 year old woman and really want to get definition so I do use that area now. I've even had a couple of guys come over and…

Don't shelve it, better to walk a 5k than not bother at all. It's all exercise. Your friend is being lame :-)

I have two, one on my lower back (about 10 years old) - it's a group of 3 large stars. The other 6 months old and the inside of my right wrist a few inches high (my inital with some other stuff around it). I love tattoos and already want another one! Don't want to get too many though so trying to hold off for a bit. :-)

To date: 8.15 miles 11th Aug: 3 miles Total: 11.15 miles Still to go...38.85 miles...

Don't let it get to you. Human nature is for people to comment/chat about others. You're doing the right thing and getting healthy. There's probably a bit of jealousy in there from others too! People try to offer me sweets and biscuits when they know I'm counting calories :grumble:
-
I hate to say it, but it really is all about willpower and moderation! I LOVE sugary foods, biscuits and cakes, but over the years have phased it out of my tea and coffee and just have to be strong when people are offering cake or buying sweets etc at work. I don't ban it, but I don't let myself have it everytime I want it…

Crunchy peanut butter...I LOVE the stuff. Even though you know it high in calories I could eat a whole jar in one go. Weirdest thing is I only started eating it 6 months ago!!

Got 1.4 miles in this morning by getting the train to a different station and walking the 23 mins to work. Total so far: 2.4 miles :-)

3rd August - 1 mile yesterday and off for a nice long walk this evening (NOTE - only counting extra miles not the 5 mins to the station and walking around the office type stuff done every day). 49 to go...

No major tips, but I just wanted to say that you seem in a state of mind where you're ready to commit again to it. Like you say, have a total fresh start, don't guilt yourself about before. Take all your measurements and decide what cal limit will work best for you. Even if you start a little higher than MFP advises and…

I did it for a month. Dropped a kilo and a half, but then got poorly. My body went out of sync (ladies) and it freaked me out so I stopped. Lots of people say it works. I suppose it depends what you're looking for. I don't think I could continue to do it later on as a 6:1 for maintenance, but each to their own...

I'm doing it and log it under cardio as there's plenty of sweating and jumping around. I count it as 150 cals for the 20 mins +warm up/cool down as I found a calculation you can do based on your own body stats to work out how much you should actually burn doing it. I don't think it burns tons so I don't want to overcount...

Be positive as you didn't put all of it back on so you should have an easier journey this time around. Good luck.

The question should be who makes all of the mess. My ex was really messy and I did pretty much all the houswork except taking out the rubbish, but it didn't upset me as we got on so well in every other respect. If you don't make the mess and you're cleaning it up then that's probably why it upsets you so much. Big question…

Peanut butter (crunchy) or dark chocolate digestives. If I open the packet I endedup eating them all!!! Soooooooooo good.

I'm in for this as I have to run a 10k in October and don't do much running so 50 miles will work well for me! Good luck everyone.

You know what they say, anyone who looks cute at the end of a workout hasn't worked hard enough so stick at it and don't worry about anyone else!

I've ordered the dvd and am going to start it this week so maybe we can track together.
