  • I've done Atkins multiple times and had a lot of success. I am/wasn't very overweight, only needed to lose about 15-20lbs and I was able to do that in a month on Atkins. I do usually stay in the induction phase a little longer than two weeks, but I do sometimes add 0 carb alcohol when I go out. What I love about low…
  • Awesome! I'm hoping to see roughly the same results!
  • I made it once and covered it with marinara. It wasn't too bad but I found that it was VERY watery. I'm not sure how to combat that.
  • Awesome! Thanks!
  • I make 1/2 and 1/2 mashed cauliflower and potatoes. It's much healthier and you can't even taste the cauliflower. That's why I figured I'd try out cauliflower pizza crust. Just wish it got crispy!
  • Darn, I love a crunchy crust!!
  • He is much less overweight than some of the trainers and instructors at the Y. In fact, I don't even think he looks bad.
  • Thank you, exactly what I was thinking! I'm well in the healthy weight range for my height.
  • I'm not saying that overweight people aren't physically fit. For me, it's a psychological thing. And when I say "overweight" I think you're all thinking I'm saying these trainers are only fit to be trainers if they're a size 0--that's NOT what I'm saying. But when some woman with a giant gut is teaching a class I paid for…
  • Thank you! That's how I feel. The person above you called me shallow, but I don't care, it's how I feel. I would just immediately lose motivation if an overweight person was training me. Just like you said, I wouldn't let someone do my hair who has bad hair or anything else along those lines. I feel like in certain…
  • Bumping because it's going down the list pretty fast!
  • I'm a HUGE Aldi advocate as well, especially for produce. It's way cheaper than walmart or any grocery store.
  • I saw that as well! It looked yummy! So did the stir fry she made before it!
  • Yes, that's when I realized it. The first 6 months I was in the honeymoon stage.
  • magj0y, Thank you, and you are completely correct. I can't just pack up and leave right now. I have to find a place to live first and do a lot of moving around. Not to mention I don't have a truck to move all my stuff and I just spent a lot of money moving all my stuff into this place (thanks uhaul, lol). I'm a broke…
  • Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice! I know you're all right. It's just easier said than done. It's funny because it took me a while to work up the courage to break up with my ex who treated me like crap, so I guess it's even harder to leave the person who treats me so well.
  • I've done well on Atkins. It's just not realistic for me to eat less than 30g of carbs EVERY day. lol. Which is why I came back to MFP. Maybe I'll try to limit the carbs to less than 100g.
  • I guess I'm just confused about why intensity should matter if it's all about how many calories you burn? When I'm on the cross ramp I definitely do very high intensity. When I walk at 4.1 on a high incline, I burn 400-450 calories in 30 minutes. That's more than I'd burn by running for 30 minutes straight. This is what…
  • Wasn't even aware that I could do that! Thanks!
  • I'm 5'5" 154lbs. I'd like to get down to 125-130 (I honestly don't care about the #, I moreso care about what I physically look like, but I was down to 130 a few years ago and I was pretty happy). I do legs Mondays, Bis and Tris Tues, and Back, Chest, and Shoulders on Thursdays. For cardio I usually play basketball, walk…
  • What do you mean "open up your food diary". I do that every day.
  • *BUMP* Sorry, this almost immediately went down to the bottom of the list and I really could use some advice :(
  • I feel your pain. I exercise all the time, I eat when hungry, and I keep hearing "you're eating too little". I'm not starving myself, I eat healthy, and I exercise..and guess what..I CAN'T LOSE A F***ING POUND!!!!!! SO frustrated! And you're right, I get sick of posting on here because everyone gives their different…
  • You've come to the right place! Plan your meals out a day in advance so you know what to expect (exercise included). I recommend YMCAs only because I get bored with exercise. The Y I'm at I can swim, play basketball, run around the track, play volleyball, play racquetball, use standard cardio machines, take classes, and…
  • I feel your pain, you have no idea! I'm from Wisconsin so drinking beer is as common as drinking 8 glasses of water a day. There's also nothing to do here but drink and eat! And deep fried cheese is one of our specialties! :) I'll tell you what I do. Not saying it's right, but it's what I do! 1. I drink vodka waters with a…
  • Thanks! I don't plan on making this a weekly thing. Just wanted to know if it made sense or not. It's not like I'm gunna eat 300 calories a day for the next week so I can consume 10,000 on Saturday. I'm not that stupid.
  • 1200. I work out every day and eat really healthy so by the end of the day I"m usually scraping to eat food because I have so many calories left over. I'm planning on saving like 100-300 a day so I can have an extra 500-1000 for Saturday because I know I will be eating junk food and drinking beer---there will be no fruit…
  • I'm curious as to how you lost that much weight in 5 weeks? What's your secret, girl?
  • Dave, I'm not looking for a "get skinny in 2 days" book or something. I meant a legitimate book with long-term weight loss and weight management.
  • Does anyone here swear by a diet book and things it really works? Or does anyone know of any diet books that actually work?
