  • I agree with your original post. If you don't eat back all of your exercise calories, you will lose weight faster because you will be at a greater calorie deficit. I try to eat back about half my exercise calories, especially since MFP and workout machines seem to overestimate burns.
  • Most of the people on this site get all of their info from MFP and therefore believe in "starvation mode." Try searching for peer-reviewed articles on PubMed or another scientific database. Don't do your research on MFP! Good luck in meeting your goals!

  • Either have a few squares of chocolate or try a piece of whole wheat toast with some Nutella, which makes a very filling snack or breakfast. There are 100 calories per tablespoon of Nutella and I find that one tablespoon is just enough for one piece of toast.
