"Size" in this sense is meaningless. I ride 3 "medium" mountain bikes. 2 are 18" and the other is 19" yet the effective reach is within 5mm on all of them. Geometry is more important than "size". Having said that, I'm 5'9" and would probably start looking at around the 54cm mark for a road/cx bike but that would only be a…

"Elapsed time" on Strava is the same as "Time" on Connect. Yes there is an 8 second discrepancy in your numbers but they are the same "measure"

Fingers crossed my knee holds. I combined the lists so far for team 1.

TBH this is just more bike company marketing bull**** to try to justify to customers why they should buy new stuff when their old stuff is actually totally fine. There is no absolute best. There is just what you like for what you do. I like my 29er for some stuff, I like my 26er for other stuff. One is not better than the…

Shimano do some wide fit in some of their styles. In my experience Shimano shoes tend to be narrow though so the wide ones could just be normal?

What I would do with 4 hours over a week. 3 x HIT session - 15 mins warm up, 5 x 1min on/off max effort/rest, 10min warm down That's so thats 1 hour 45 done. During warm ups I would do peddle drills like one legged peddling. It will help you warm up and improve technique. 1 x MTB ride at 2hours 15min. Do whatever the route…

Currently I'm doing 2 HIT sessions a week: 20min warm up 5x1 min on 1min off max intervals, 15min warm down. I'm finding this extremely beneficial in generally keeping my heart rate and breathing more under control when doing hard but not MAX efforts when riding, especially when climbing. Means I can climb faster for…

I think it's worth talking about hubs and rims separately but I build my own so I have the luxury of choosing exactly what I want and saving the cost of the build labour. Hubs If you have the budget go for the DT Swiss240. If you don't then the DT Swiss350 are very good also, that's what I have myself. They have the same…

November and December I was hardcoring it in the gym, doing 5x5 twice a week and 5x15 twice a week mostly on legs (squat, leg extensions, leg curls, calf raises). Thats right 4 leg sessions a week which killed my legs for sure and I didn't really do any riding but I put 29mm on my thigh measurement in 6-7 weeks. Been doing…

I'll ride in all weathers but that we keep even me at home. :(

Firstly forget rollers, just ride outside. Sure the weather may be bad but go ride anyway. It's always better riding than not riding. As a general rule I'll always start a ride 1 layer light. When I leave the house my goal is to feel cold, this way by the time I'm riding I should be at a comfortable temperature. Don't…
