  • I work out at home using The Bar Method Advanced Sculpting/toning by Burr Leonard. To me it is an awesome workout. The website has several DVD's to choose from. Good Luck.
  • I know this thread is months old, but if you are still looking for information about The Bar Method, I use the DVD from the founder of the Bar Method Burr Leonard. She is awesome and I get a fantastic burn of no less that 600 calories per 50 min class.
  • Metamucil as directed, routinely if you are not getting enough fiber. Also fills you up if you take it 1/2 hour before meals.
  • Thank you. I am going to start focusing more on inches lost more than anything else. I do track my food, stay as close to 1200 calories as possible. I do some type of workout everyday. I am 5'9" and currently 166 lbs. and want to weigh 150 - 155. Thanks again.
  • I am sure this person appreciates you encouragement and support.
  • Your response is right on target about the comments. How non-supportive can someone be? This is why I don't post anymore because I was getting some negative feedback and it didn't feel like a "community support"
  • I guess what is throwing me off is not seeing the direct calorie burn using the stopwatch when I set it during my exercise time. For instance, today I worked out for 45 mins, and it said I was only active for 10 mins, longest active 2 min's and longest idle 33 min's with a total of 623 calories burn. I must be missing…
  • I purchased the Jawbone UP on Monday, I too was excited but that did not last long. I had no problem with it syncing to my droid, but I it's not syncing with MFP calorie burn. I find it very hard to decipher what calories I have actually burned. I worked out for an hour and it says I worked out for 10 mins. of active time,…
  • It is linked but not syncing information. It syncs my food but not my exercise calorie burn. I will check out troubleshooting. Thanks.
  • i too am very confused about my Jawbone up. I didn't think I was tech challenged but I don't find it to be user friendly. I am unsure about the amount of calories burned and not sure that I am switching to "stopwatch" correctly.
  • I just finished 45 min's of cardio and 15 min's of fat blaster exercise and it reads that I was active for 17 min @ 606, longest active was 14 min @ 104, and longest idle 19 min @ a resting burn of 502. So which one do I log?
  • Thank you all for your words of wisdom and encouragement. Yes, it is a busy time of the year, yes I have been overwhelmed by home improvements because I am doing them by myself, mostly painting and dry wall repairs. Tomorrow is a new day and life is full of second chances. Thanks again.
  • I am an established (didn't like the word "old") user and my get up and go, left me months ago. As a result I have gained 10 lbs. I just can't figure out why.
  • I just read your post, awesome and inspiring. I need to lose those last 10 lbs. and have always wanted to try Zumba. Did you buy the "real" Zumba DVD or do you go to a class? All my work outs are at home.
  • I have hit a major plateau with my last 10 lbs. I will lose 5, gain 5, lose 5 gain 5....I have change my workout routines, don't "eat my calories back" but may start doing that! I notice a difference as I have lost 40 lbs. but I desperately want to lose the last 10.
  • As a "newbie" to yoga I bought a couple DVD's until I found the right one for me. My absolute favorite is Yoga For Energy & Relaxation by Tamal Dodge...his voice is soothing, he explains the moves, gives you suggestions and the calorie burn for me is 400+ using either one. Next one is Slim Calm Sexy Yoga, Blast Calories &…
  • It is hard, but you have to want it and trust me I hate saying that because I am, and have been for months, in a major set back....are you working out everyday? Are you "eating back" your calories from working out? Dig deep, it is there within you....set backs are okay so long as you don't stay there.
  • Hey Delaware Members.... Gosh there is nothing worse than falling off the exercise/food wagon....one week was due to an injury and another week was due to getting my house back together after our hot water heater exploded! What a mess! But, in just those few weeks boy did my body fall out of shape. It's been a "beat up on…
  • Hi Dani, Welcome. Yes, I find it difficult to keep up with postings and logging. Good luck on your journey. Feel free to add me on your pal list. B
  • That is awesome and just the encouragement I need. I keep starting it and then never follow through and then complain because I am not losing the last 10 pounds. THANK YOU!
  • There is a skin tightening procedure using a Titan Laser. It is done at most Med Spa's and cost a lot less than a tummy tuck.
  • Thank you....I met with a Dr. at a med spa and suggested the Titan and DOT laser. Also said I was an excellent candidate for lower face lift ~ but money is a huge issue with that, not that the other two are a drop in the bucket. Years of sun damage and not taking care of my skin plays a big part. I thought about buying…
  • Thank you all. My weight loss has been over a year's time and I did see a med-spa and the option is laser/skin tightening. He said it would tighten up my cheeks, jawline and "gobbler neck". Cost of course is an issue. :ohwell:
  • It's the sodium....I had the same issue. Watch your sodium intake, drink lots of water.
  • Hello and welcome back! Feel free to add me! AND, welcome to the world of being a "nontraditional student" ~ I am in the same position! It is challenging to make healthy choices on a college campus ~ yikes ~ but when I see "the kids" eating pizza, drinking sodas, snacking of junk food, I remind myself this is why you have…
  • So what should I change?
  • I walked into an upscale clothing store and the associate said to me "And who are you shopping for today?" The responses that I had to keep under my breathe are not printable!
  • Thank you for sharing that information, I wish you continued success!
  • My ultimate goal was, and continues to be, off blood pressure medicine....happy to say that occurred months ago! I feel so much better, healthier. With that said I am NOT focusing on just a number, it is a healthy choice of where I want to be. I know the healthiest weight for me is 150 to 155 and I am not vain in knowing…
  • I have lost a total of 22 since using MFP but overall weight loss is 37 lbs. I am not using any special diet, just eating 1200 calories a day and working out 4 days a week. I have not deprived myself of anything, just watching my portions.
