  • I have done a cleanse twice - both times i dropped 3-5 lbs. This wasn't water weight either...it was real weight. I cut wheat, sugar, dairy, caffeine and alcohol out of my diet for 30 days - that'll drop the weight off anyone!
  • Last night was day one for me and it was Chest + Back...it was hard but not impossible. I pushed myself as much as i could (i can't even remember the last time i did a push up!) and today i am sooooo sore. It feels great though! Tonight is plyometrics - not 100% sure what that is, but i'm thinking its going to be HARD.…
  • I haven't done the fitness test, but i'm supposed to start the program tonight. Do you really need to do the fitness test???? For one, i dont have a body fat calculator or a heart rate monitor...
  • Thanks - where can i find the P90X thread?

  • Hi everyone, My bf and i just got the P90X excercise dvds and we're starting them tonight after work. I'm so excited! It looks soooo hard, but seems like you really get results. Does anyone know how many calories you burn in a P90X session? I'm not sure how to log it on here. Thanks!

  • Mmmmm i love the chili from Wendy's - i always get a small and pour it over a plain baked potato. It's delish!
  • Well, after trying out a different diet/excercise tracking program through Women's Health mag online, i've decided to come back to myfitnesspal. Not only was their meal plan RIDICULOUS, expensive and hard to follow, but i actually ended up gaining weight while i was using it! Thank god it was a free trial. Anyways, i'm…
  • Thanks guys... I think the problem may be that i'm not doing much excercise, just relying on eating 1200 calories a day to lose weight. I'm going to join a cardio kickboxing class and see if that helps! And you're right, 1 lb a week does kinda seem like too much.
  • I've lost 7 lbs since i started using MFP and i only have 3 to go. But i can't get the scale to budge! I guess the good news is that i'm not gaining weight, but my goal calculator says that i should be losing a pound a week. I'm definitely not. What's wrong?
  • Nice selection ladies! I ended up having a great lunch: Fresh tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, chickpeas and a bit of crumbled feta with a drizzle of olive oil. Then threw a couple of slices of light turkey deli meat on the side with a bit of hummus. It was awesome!
  • What's everyone eating for lunch? I need some new ideas!
  • Oh mannnnnnn, I went to see a movie last night and managed to polish off an entire large bucket of popcorn to myself. I had originally planned to share it, but my friend decided she wasn't hungry after all. Instead of stopping myself, i just ate and ate and ate. It tasted soooo good. You can imagine my mortification when i…
  • Mmmmm chicken fajitas in whole wheat tortillas!
  • Wow, today is day 2 of my sobriety as well! I started a 30 day cleanse yesterday that doesn't allow any alcohol. So far so good, but i know things will get harder as it gets closer to the weekend. The fact that my boss gave me a really nice bottle of wine yesterday really isn't helping either! Stay strong, and keep us…
  • Just add some more veggies - cucumber, celery, tomatoes, zucchini, bell peppers, radishes...they are all super low in cals and have lots of crunch to help satisfy the munchies. Mmmm they're all so good...
  • I totally fell off the wagon for about 2 weeks - i was eating junk food, not excercising, not keeping track of what i was eating, drinking beer at will....I feel like i've gained all the weight i lost while using this site!!!! Why does it take so long to come off but goes back on so quickly? ARGH! Anyways today is…
  • The other problem i have too with going out drinking is that by the end of the night, all willpower is completely gone and grabbing a piece (or two) of pizza on the way home seems like the best idea i've ever had. I have yet to figure out a way to trick a drunk mind into eating veggies instead!
  • I agree with the gin and soda thing - it's probably the lowest calorie alcoholic drink you can have -around 60 cals for a single. Wine is good also, i think a 3 oz glass of white is only around 70-80 cals. And it can go straight to your head! PS i know how you feel, whenever i'm out with my friends and everyone's…
  • You could try going skiing or snowboarding - three hours will burn over 1000 calories!
  • I heart sushi!!!! Sushi can be really good for you - next time you have a california roll, get it made without mayo - it will take a bunch of the fat and calories out! Also try to stay away from sushi that has tempura in it (means its been deep fried). Sashimi is great for dieting - It's just raw fish…

  • Hmmm - i'm all for saying what you feel, but if you don't want your statement to be taken the wrong way, you might want to avoid coming across as judgemental by using phrases like 'don't care enough about your liver'. Having a drink with friends and 'poisoning your liver' are two very different things, and it certainly…
  • Oh and another awesome low cal snack that i've been eating a lot of lately is Light/Low Calorie Jello. I make one box and pour it into two margarita glasses, then put in the fridge to set. Each glass is only 20 calories, looks like a fancy dessert in the glass, and its J-E-L-L-O! I like cherry flavor the best, it tastes…
  • I like Splenda the best of all of them - i think it tastes the most natural and apparently it's better for you than the other fake stuff. But every website you read tells you something different about whether its good/bad for you, so it's hard to say.
  • You can buy the "Egg Beaters" stuff at the grocery store so you don't actually have to separate the eggs yourself. It comes in a carton and seems weird but its the same as the real thing. And don't forget to go easy on the cheese, even if it is low fat! You can add other stuff too, sometimes i use fresh spinach,…
  • Try cutting out that 500 calorie shake - there are lots of things you could have: Piece of fruit with yogurt = 150 cals Four egg whites scrambled with tomatoes, low fat cheese, onions and garlic = 150 calories Single serving box of Raisin Bran cereal with milk = 230 calories And keep it up during the rest of the day!…
  • Is there such a thing? When i go to hang out with friends, i never know what to order. I've already switched from beer to Gin and Soda (only about 60 calories) but what about the food part? Is there anything on a pub manu that's remotely healthy?
  • It's so hard to know what to believe, because it seems like everytime we're told something is good/bad for us, a couple of years later a study comes out that says the exact opposite.
  • Hi, I've been trying to stick with my diet for the past few weeks and at first it seemed pretty easy - i was eating healthy food and staying under my target calorie goal without much difficulty, but now i'm finding it sooo hard. I am giving into my cravings of sweets and salt and alcohol, all things that i'm trying to…
  • From your home page, just click on "Food Diary" (bottom of the page) and click "add food" under the meal you've just eaten. Search for the food, choose the appropriate portion, and voila.
