I started feeling hunger pains about 4 weeks after my RNY. I usually feel them at least once or twice a day.

It's funny that we are told many different things. My NUT said to stay away from it for 3 months because caffeine is a diuretic. Since dehydration and trying to get our fluids in is a struggle for many post ops we really don't want diuretic effects.

You may want to check with your doctor 1st. My surgeon has his patients do optifast only for the 2 week presurgery diet.

Hi, I am new here too and I just clicked to add you as a friend. I don't have any friends yet either. :) I had RNY surgery 7/10/12 and it is the best thing I could have done for myself. Good luck with your surgery.
