After some research and careful consideration, I decided to go the TDEE x 20% route. It just seems to make more sense to me this way. I will still use a HRM when I exercise just because I like to know the payoff for the work I put in, but I will log my exercise as 1 calorie burned as the TDEE method factors in calorie burn…

I should add that I wear a HRM when I workout and burn about 350 calories when doing 45 min of lifting and anywhere between 500-650 calories when doing 45-60 min of kickboxing or boxing.

Hi everyone! So happy to find this group. My name is Laura and I'm from NYC. I am currently 137 pounds and I would like to lose about 15-20 pounds, but in reality I just want to be and look in better shape. I started MFP about 3 weeks ago at 139 pounds. I used to buy the Gold Standard/Optimum…

1,200 calorie goal here. On week 2 here. Exercising and eating back my calories. My diary is visible to friends.

I love my Polar FT40. It tells you percentage of calories burned that are coming from fat, which I think is just cool to know. I see a big difference in percentages when I'm lifting vs. doing cardio.

Thanks! I am eating back all of my exercise calories and I'm currently set up to lose 1lb/week. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing anything up with my net calories with having my activity level set as sedentary.
