  • That's the thing with heart rate monitors - after awhile they can just stop working. Have you been periodically checking your heart rate reading against your pulse while working out (counting for 10s then multiplying by 6) to know that the reading is off? Is your chest strap slipping - that could be why it poops out…

  • Why go to the gym if you can do something at home? Personally, I don't like counting on will power - it has a tendency to fail. If there's something you can do at home (treadmill, exercise bike, workouts without needing equipment) it's easier to follow through. Not saying don't go to the gym - just have a backup.
