  • Sorry if this is not the same topic, but my trainer wasn’t big on stretching either and was big on pushing me even when I had said I was a complete beginner. I was in a lot of pain after each work out. It pays to shop around for a good trainer!!!
  • My family were awful I don’t think they even realized it. Being Asian there are no boundaries to what you can say to each other. My cousins would say “you’d be pretty if you lost ALOT of weight” as I was a pudgy teenager back in the days. Oh another one was “why is your face so fat”. This was a common greeting at family…
  • I think it is a habit - when Im at work 3pm is when I get a chance to sit down and write up reports, if Im not at work 3pm is when I pick the kids and they have their afternoon tea. I like the idea of shifting my eating time, as I am only mildly hungry at lunch time, I could push Lunch till 2pm.
  • No medical reason, I don’t mind the odd cake or slice now and then, but not everyday. Sugars can give me a crash not nice
  • Very sound advice Thank You. Yeh I do feel undernourished on 1300, so the second week my body rebel’s. Unfortunately I can’t take 3pm naps (work and kids)
  • Some really great ideas to curb this 3pm problem of mine. Thanks everyone 😃. I will cycle through the different snack ideas as I tend to get bored if I stick to the same things
  • Sounds interesting I will have a look at the site!! Sugar is something I really want to cut back on
  • I find I can stick to 1300 a day for about a week then the following week I really struggle and it’s usually 3pm I have a slump. I grab a naughty snack. Then dinner time I go over on my calories. When I do go over it’s about 1600-1800 for the day rather than 1300 (my goal). It’s the last few pounds I’m struggling with.…
  • The overnight oats with protein powder sounds delicious thank you
  • I try to keep caffeine to: coffee at breakfast, coffee after lunch. Sometimes a coffee at mid morning if I feel the breakfast one didn’t pick me up. So on average two a day. I sleep about 7hrs per night. I get the random 5am wake up about once a week. No idea what that’s about. I just randomly wake early and can’t get back…
  • I mean to say 100g of chicken or fish etc - any “meat” type food. I find 50g of chicken too little to keep me full for long enough.
  • I think I’m tired more than hungry but I seem to eat when I am tired. Stupid, I know it’s my weakness!
  • I might try the rice and meat combo as I mainly have bread at lunch.
  • I’m looking to lose another 5 pounds. I’m not in a rush but it’s not budging. I work part time so if I’m at home it’s the pantry if I’m at work I pop down to the cafe for a sweet drink etc. no dinner is not good. I cook for the family and I run out of time to make something different for myself. Or I just lose control if…
  • What a shock to hear about cinnamon. Is there any safe real foods left !!
  • Chocolate.. when all goes down hill chocolate is my friend. But with friends like these who needs enemies  But I agree with the others log it! And tomorrow is a new day
  • Hi all I’ve been on here a while now. When I first started I was single child free, it was a breeze to loose the weight. Years later, 2 kids later I put the weight back on, plus more. I got my act together and lost the baby weight. Extremely tough second time round. But I got there! Lately I’ve been feeling complacent bad…
  • I just have a sandwich sized slice of bread. If I have enough calories I’ll use two slices if not enough just one open sandwich. One slice is usually 100cals
  • Do you have children? You might want to save eating baby food till you got a whole lotta uneaten baby food at home. You might want to think of the fiber side as well. Most prepackaged baby food is low in fiber which makes sense for little tummies. Baby yogurt is not too dissimilar to adult ones so I wouldn’t worry about…
  • There’s nothing like freshly baked home made bread!! What a coincidence I just had some for dinner tonight. Sorry I didn’t bake it, so no recipe. But I have tried baking bread in the past. I think there’s a knack to it (which I didn’t have). But hope you find a great recipe
  • Banana, yogurt, cottage cheese on a cruskit, a boiled egg, apple. I have mid afternoon snack about 3pm if I don’t I find by 5pm I go astray
  • I think the hardest thing I've ever done was become a mother. I put my family first to the detriment of my own body/sanity. I love my 5 and 2 year old to bits but did find getting back into shape with them a struggle. I've been preparing my meals ahead of time now and I find prelogging meals makes a big difference too. I…
  • I'm a similar stat, but like @girlinahat your CW is close to my GW/MW. I've started incorporating strength training/lifting it's been terrific in terms of toning my body. I'm seeing a personal trainer as I am completely lost with where to start and I've been reading the book Strong, have a look it's a great read. I haven't…
  • I have seen posts reading burnt 300cal from doing 10mins of... and thought gees I hope this person realises that MFP over estimates the calories. Dunno maybe it is accurate but if weight loss is the main goal I wouldn't go by mfp calculations
  • I run every morning, have been for many years now. The endorphins give me a nice hit to start my day. Plus if I do it first thing in the morning I don't have time to proscrastinate. It really is a personal choice. If it doesn't affect your sleep doing it at night then there is no problem. Whatever works for you the key is…
  • Oh gosh that's a lot of equipment which I'm ok to go get if I need it but where do you store it? You have a separate room for exercise or your garage?? Thanks for the book suggestion
  • I'd love to start weight/strength training but I'm so uncoordinated I need real simple easy to follow instructions. Do you guys think this book would be simple enough to follow. I've even been thinking of getting a personal trainer but I have little ones so where will I ever get a babysitter!! Really really want to get…
  • Do you all think there is any difference in the size of your pooch and having a c section vs normal birth? I've had 2 c sections and I'm quite happy with my body, arms legs back reasonably toned but tummy still no good il have to do more weights but I wondered after a c Section it might never go back to normal? Ie flat…
  • I find most machines overestimate my calories, not sure why. I had a polar f60 fantastic HRM. Now I use my iwatch to track my HR. Highly recommend getting some sort of HRM much more accurate than relying on the machines
  • I'm in !!!! Awesome challenge
