  • Um, yeah thanks. I recognize your attempt to 'help' but it's not. Rural city to College city = no transportation in between. No buses go between, she HAS posted to try to carpool - three people she tried to work something out to carpool with from here (the only three that she could find) - all have totally different…
  • Would be nice... but not possible. College is in a totally different city, 45 min away. (well, 35 to the city, plus 10 into by the college). She's in a driver's course, they don't go back and forth like that. (Already considered that).
  • I wish I could make it easier lol - how long did it take you to lose the 46 lbs? Unfortunately I know that it's not so much food. I definitely only actually lose when I'm more active (thyroid issues run in my family big time, I'm diagnosed as "borderline hypo" but they won't do anything about it). Food I've been quite…
  • Haven't been as diligent as I wanted to be (life has been crazybusy) - I really struggle getting into Piyo, no matter how much I wanted to. I sooo prefer Combat. I was working up a new schedule last night around my days to try to be more consistent, and will be doing a les mills combat and les mills pump hybrid, with piyo…
  • Actually you're wrong... read the title of the FORUM: "Motivation and Support" So yeah, the OP has every right to ask for support.
  • As someone mentioned, it sounds like your friend may be trying to sabotage you, intentionally or not. Sometimes friends don't like change - i.e., they think they can force you to stay as you are, concerned that if you change, you won't want to be with them anymore. Stupid thing is, she's doing exactly what she probably…
  • Awesome job! You mentioned you can't see results as much - may I make a suggestion? I know it's not something you might want to do, but try taking pictures in a bathingsuit, or even workout bra/shorts - black really hides, so you might not be noticing as quickly as you would if you wore something different for your pics :)…
  • Tomorrow my daughter has her 'photography field trip week' class at a market... I investigated it - it's literally two blocks to one of the gyms I was considering going to - so I've got an appt to go there and to the other gym I was considering tomorrow. making myself do this!!
  • Thanks for the suggestions, ideally I wanted 1-2 hrs/day because I need to lose quite a bit, but you're right, 30 min is better than nothing. I didn't count weekends because we're usually running around so much that I blow past my fitbit steps by almost double (well over 12,000, closer to 15, I'm set to 7500/day…
  • I know this is an older topic, but since another poster re-opened it, I thought I'd put in my 2 cents. Not sure if anyone has read the book, "Where did all the fat go" by Dr. Huizenga from the biggest loser show - he basically clearly states what worked at home for the at-home contestants (season 3 I think?). He…
  • Thanks so much for this!
  • Thanks! That's what I've started doing :) (JUST started though)
  • ok thanks. I haven't had any issues showering with it, but don't want issues swimming with it, so I'll just log the swim instead as suggested.
  • I don't know if outsiders can get a membership to the college gym lol - probably just for students.
  • Thanks - cool - wasn't sure if their group classes were any good. And thanks for letting me know to check for discounts! Never thought of that. Not sure if I have anything that might qualify, but maybe CAA? I'll ask.
  • Awesome thanks - yes it would probably be the adelaide one. That or Wellington/King? She'll be going to Fanshawe (Oxford Rd I think it is), so those two seem to be nearby with pools.
  • No one can answer? :(
  • Yes, is it possible? We're only a week late!
  • Currently just outside of Kitchener, Ontario (for the past 5 yrs and staying). (Born/raised in Niagara Falls, but lived in Mississauga ON, Calgary AB, Waterloo ON, and Riverview FL - but that's not Canada LOL).
  • Thanks everyone! Re: TurboFire - I'm not really usually unable to do the moves (never had a problem dancing at all and I'm good with coordination), but I did find it confusing with some of the steps. (My daughter absolutely detested it, at least the fire workouts). So I went ahead and decided to get both - Les Mills Combat…
  • Thanks - yeah PiYo is new, apparently a mix up of pilates and yoga but supposed to be not so boring. (Not sure). I was leaning to combat - I do like kickboxing type stuff.
  • So I'm not going to get into this fight, but I will say this in a voice of being neutral: 1) the OP was frustrated and thought it might help her to perhaps reset her body (or not over do it) by cutting out fast food/junk etc. for 30 days... so she was NOT asking an opinion of what YOU thought of her plan, she was asking…
  • Count me in! Not going to be easy lol - I just finally switched from mini chocolate to m&m peanuts (for protein with choc flavor).... but we're supposed to go to the Bahamas and Florida in May, so I'd love to even lose 10 pounds by then. (Have ideally 69 pounds to lose ultimately)
  • Another thing you could do is get a BodyMedia Fit band / monitor. You wear it on your arm all day (and night if you wish), and it monitors how much you burn all day long, both being sedentary and when you work out. I bought one back in January, but only actually started using it a few days ago (we moved, it got packed in a…

  • I created a little "list" of goals and rewards. Basically every 5 pounds, I get to either: - buy nailpolish (my addiction lol) - I don't let myself buy it now otherwise so it's good motivation :) - give myself a "spa night" in my air tub, everyone is told to leave me alone LOL Every 10 pounds, I get to buy myself either: -…
  • Hey Stevie - why not try T25? It's Shaun T - (just came out) - 25 min long :) Kind of like Insanity but you don't "have" to go as hard if you don't want to, or you can go total intense. But every single workout is 25 min.
  • Actually it's not as intense as I thought - yet it can be. Surprisingly Shaun T has a girl (Tanya) doing the modified version in the entire workout. She was easy to follow (I'm not ready to go all out either, I have bad ankles so I have to be careful). I found myself though, doing beyond the modified but not quite full…
  • We're starting actually on the 15th, (although I started yesterday to test it out!)
  • I finally bought the bodymedia unit to monitor, because I have no clue either. It should be arriving today, so hopefully I'll be at least burning some half decent calories. (Just started with LMP on Monday).
  • Thanks for the reply - I was actually looking at the body media website right now, then popped over here to see any response to the calorie burn :) I think I'm going to get the BM and see how it tracks the exercise. THanks!
