  • I just did my first workout this morning (at home) - loved it! Did Bassline. Wow it really kicks your butt. I bought the kit from them, but my daughter found sticks on Amazon.com if you want them cheaper.
  • I appreciate this post - I've been doing basic walk/runs all last fall from Sept through to December, but January through March really struggled with tendonitis in my ankles (old car accident injury) and got out of running, just walking. I go to an indoor walking track - easy to count my laps to know how far I've gone.…
  • haha similar! My daughter and I signed up for the Epcot food & wine 10K for November 2017 :) I have NEVER done any running before, not at all anything since public school... I'd like to reach my goal before November. I turn 48 just after the 10k run and would love to reach my goal or at least close to it - which is like 60…
  • From a more motivational side...
  • Ok I had to put a few in here... lol
  • I'm feeling the exact same as you - I pushed myself to finally stop the excuses, and as of yesterday I just registered officially for a RunDisney 5k for April 2017. I've never done it before, heck I'm 68 pounds overweight and am NOT a runner. However - I needed something to push me like nothing else has. I'm sick of making…
  • I struggle to fit it in but am working on it. I work for myself... technically at home so "kind of" no excuse, except that I'm always running around doing something (errands etc) - so not always behind my desk. Those days it's easier to get my steps. Also I take my daughter to school (college) in a city 45 min away (no…
  • When you click to add exercise... choose strength or cardio - do a search for it. If it doesn't come up, then there IS a way to add it - just follow the page. Underneath the "Matching results - no results found" box, you'll see "Can't find what you're looking for? Add an exercise to the database". Then you put in the name,…
  • Yeah that's what was confusing me. To maintain, MFP claims about 2500. Frankly, my scale even says 2100, MFP is overreaching. I did put my goals into MFP, the exercise/calorie burn is not my own entries, it's actually from fitbit. (Walking all day plus doing Les Mills Combat today for example). Didn't expect to lose in a…
  • Ah ok, I think I understand that a bit more... I was thinking this shows the deficit immediately, but it's already counted in. ok. I guess I need to look over my original goals (it's been a while, but I'm getting back on track).
  • Congrats! Have you ever tried Zumba? Even if you just start slow its a lot of fun.
  • Everyone is different to what they prefer - I previously was weighing once a week because I was told it wasn't good to be 'obsessed about the daily scale/fluctuations' - but I read just the other day that people who weigh in daily actually have more long term success keeping the weight off because they are very…
  • Beat my fitbit steps goal, got a workout in (ab jam) - not as long as I'd like but my hubby is working on a deadline project in my basement where my workout stuff is, so had to do what I had available to me upstairs. Ate great, still have 300 calories to spare and I finished my log for the day :) Unfortunately I forgot…
  • They actually do focus a lot on diet - just not on screen unfortunately, that's where they do need to improve (rather than the annoying jenny-o sponsor spots...) That does drive me nuts.
  • I haven't watched today's episode (have it on record)... but I find it motivating in some ways. I don't like the throwing up parts, nor the yelling/belittling, but I do like seeing the results they get, especially after rough weeks. Now yeah, some people could go to extremes with it, but let's face it, it's a reality show…
  • I have a fitbit - I typically (at first) mark down my start/end times and then after syncing my fitbit, I check out how many calories burned in that specific time frame. i.e., I know I burn 88 calories doing Ab Jam (first 10 min)... So once entered as my exercizes, they then come up when I go to add them.
  • Sure I'm in :)
  • I did, it's nowhere, that's why I tried to ask here. Only Zumba Exhilerate info is out there, and I have that (and the book). Just missing the newest one.
  • Welcome aboard :) Sorry I didn't post, I didn't get notices that anyone had joined with me, so glad to see! Summer is crazy and a difficult time to get on track (for me). We've done a few workouts but not every night as I'd like - but doing them again tonight! How are you liking it?
  • Yep, I just got Cize too - and I have Zumba. For Zumba itself - I preferred the Zumba Exhilerate series, but the new one is okay too. (Go to zumba.com). For Cize, it's from Shaun T, I love it as it teaches you how to dance no matter how uncoordinated you are, you burn calories. I'm starting it as a challenge for myself on…
  • Cize is a new workout program from Shaun T. It's basically teaching you to dance to a song for each workout, whether you're a dancer or not - quite fun! If you do it right, it can be an awesome workout for legs and abs (and cardio). Google it - or go to beachbody dot com to see the info. (I'm not selling you on it - just…
  • Yes, I do have les mills pump and combat, but you can't buy combat on any website that I've found yet :( Hoping someone might know otherwise.
  • Um yeah... 10:30 pm on a Sunday night...
  • Well, dinner, then Mondays I do go for walks with a friend usually for a few hours (usually 2), then cleaning kitchen/getting to bed, (Tues out), Thurs have a commitment from 7-usually 8:15-ish, then I do tend to go to bed early as I have to be back up early. Friday nights is usually running around or family night because…
  • Yeah, I think I'd rather lose because of losing more than the goal. Realistically my concept is losing about 2 pounds a week. Since I've been mostly sitting for work, getting into gear/exercising should help make the pounds go a little faster. Also thinking (thinking I stress!) about starting running.... totally NOT my…
  • Awesome - I'm seriously thinking of joining one. My only concern - I get how it works for if you don't lose, or if you do reach your goal... what if you go way beyond the 10% in the time frame? i.e., 6 months, with my plan, that's not as much as I want to lose in that same time frame), my goal is closer to a minimum of…
  • And good news / update: my daughter just found someone to carpool with 2 days a week :) Similar situation to ours (limited vehicles/license issues) - and she's in all my daughter's classes. So one week we'll drive, next week they'll drive - so this will free up a few days for me at least more than they are. (At least till…
  • I don't have 100 pounds to lose, but I am working on 70. I have had similar issues to you - so I recently decided to tackle it two ways: 1) overall but 2) broken down into 5 and 10 pound mini goals. It's working :) (Oh, and I set rewards for each level, just simple stuff like nailpolish, a movie, a bubble bath, stuff I…
