Wow! Interesting article - a trip to the Dr is definitely in order then! I hope they can prescribe you another one that doesn't have such nasty side-effects without it bothering your skin. :) [It's such a nightmare sometimes - you take one medicine to cure one problem and it causes another one! If only medical science was…

I weigh everything, even salad and vegetables (which my work colleagues find hilarious/ridiculous/obsessive). It definitely helps me to feel more in control and eat reasonable amounts of food. It worked the other way round for me too though - I was really over-esitimating the weight of some foods so my portions were…

Yay for boobies! ;) That's that a fab NSV. Haha. Well done!

Could you just be honest with her about your feelings? Tell her you're serious about staying on track and being healthy and that you'd really appreciate her supporting you by not offering you desserts etc. If she continues, explain that you don't want to stop seeing her, but if she can't support you like you've asked…

I had one contraceptive pill that really messed with my emotions (to the point that I felt suicidal a few times), made me gain weight and had other horrible side effects. I didn't realise at the time that any of those things were related to the pill, but when my GP changed it for another one my mental state completely…

I've been working my way through a Jillian Michaels box set of DVDs. Tonight will probably be No More Trouble Zones since I feel the burn the most with that one and burn the most calories. I may also do Six Week Six Pack depending how much time I have. :)

In my experience, exercising despite the soreness actually improves it! I can be aching like mad from head to toe, wincing when moving from sitting to standing and vice versa, but once I've finished the day's workout I feel great. You need to get blood flowing to the aching parts, plus get lots of protein to help them…

Slow and steady wins the race. That is all. :) Sounds like you're on the right track looking at your meals again and giving yourself a little extra kick-start. You'll be in that size 12 in no time...if not already! x

I used to be a long distance running and did cross-country, but then developed asthma and had to give up. I've started running again over the last year or so and in the beginning was the same as you are now. However, I can now run for about half an hour without any problem (still not as long as I would like, but gradually…

Thank you so much everyone - that's really good and helpful advice. I realised last night that I also have a 24 hour helpline manned by GPs with my private health cover, so I might try calling that next time I'm struggling too. It might be less intimidating than face-to-face and I won't have the fear of it being written in…

Thank you both :) I wish I could figure out why I do this, but I'm not really sure. I know I'm absolutely terrified at the thought of putting on weight - the minute I put on a pound I think I'm on a slippery slope to morbid obesity. I'm also scared of people judging me - I hate conflict of any kind and want to get on with…

I have my Bichon Frise (just turned 6 today) Barnaby Biggins as my running partner. He's brilliant! He'll happily run alongside me without pulling or tripping me over - he gets into 'the zone' as much as I do while running. He seems to know when I'm doing it for exercise as opposed to playing chase (which we also do a…

bump for later - thank you!

I tend to dip in and out of veganism quite a lot and when I'm eating vegan I usually have a lot of things like ratatouille, Thai curry, lentil dishes, daal, hummus, couscous, chick peas, beans (butter beans especially), brown rice, polenta, salads, fruit and vegetables. Ratatouille and Chana Daal are two of my absolute…

How lovely! That would have made my day. Make her your new best friend! ;) x

Don't think that just because they didn't say anything they didn't notice - I'm sure they must have! They might be like me though. I wouldn't dare mention someone's weight loss unless I knew them ridiculously well and knew 100% that they wouldn't be offended by it. I once said to a guy at work that he'd lost a lot of…

I’ve had everything done as some point or other and the only thing I would never have done a second time is the armpits – that was horrendous! My lady garden groomer told me that it hurts more the darker your hair is because it tends to be thicker. Thankfully I’m quite fair and I don’t find it all that painful. It does…

You most definitely do NOT look the same now as in your before photo - your body has really changed. You look great. Most definitely beach ready regardless of the last 2lbs you hoped to lose! Cheerio...I'm off to Debenhams (well, we don't have that in the Channel Islands, but I'm sure they must have a website!) ;) Natalie x

I missed a few days again (being asthmatic sucks when the weather isn't consistent) but I started back at it at Level 3 this morning and I loved it! It's easily my favourite and the time just flies by. I'm actually considering doing it again before bed tonight! Some of the moves were a bit tricky balance wise (jumping…

Thank you both! I really appreciate the help. I'm totally obsessive about logging absolutely everything that passes my lips and weighing/measuring everything, so hopefully once I figure out my calories I'll be all set! :) Thanks again Natalie x

Shameless self-bump :blushing:

Whoops! Sorry. I'm aiming for somewhere between 8 and a half to 9 stone (120-130 lbs). :)

I had to cut and re-stitch my chest strap as well! It's not even as if I'm tiny or anything - I'm a UK size 10-12 so I'd expect it to go small enough for someone my size.

I have the same HRM as you and mine picked up my HR almost immediately, so I think yours must be faulty like you thought. Bad times. Hope you can get it replaced with a working one! :) Natalie
