  • I love your writing. I can also absolutely relate. Agreed with everyone re: don't beat yourself up. That photo is wonderful! You look great. Keep heading in the right direction, and even with a setback here and there, you're still heading in the right direction. That's what matters.
  • Loving this Mini, Audi, Triumph talk...my other passion is Jeeps, and Jeeping. Along with that, hiking and mountain biking. (I also have a 1976 '02)
  • We broke a record yesterday, and it's supposed to get to 99* today (Denver). So thankful for the low humidity on days like today.
  • Office manager at a small (12 people) awesome law firm (not ambulance chasers).

  • My Jeep.
  • Mine's me, but from far enough away that my unphotogenicness isn't apparent. I hate how I look in pix. Plus, Jeep is life.
  • Agreed, too, that it's better than nothing! Have you considered a treadmill? They are pretty cheap ($100 or less) on Craig's List (at least in my area). I read while on mine - extra incentive to get on it in the evenings. Love the jump rope idea. Sounds like you're doing well, and getting your workout in. Wishing you…
  • Agreed. Consistency is key. I'm a pretty avid rider, and if I skip a week, I feel it when restarting. You can Google on bike fit, too, to at least make sure you're in the ballpark for the right geometry so you don't get hurt. You definitely want your leg, at the lowest pedal stroke, to only have a slight bend in the knee.…
  • You look amazing. You're my height, and start weight. You're an inspiration! Love that you are doing it for YOU and no one else - that's the only way to be!
  • I just got it, too, and am happy to read your review Stella3838. You cite the same reasons I had for ordering it - convenience. With this, I can take it with me to work, up to the shop when my husband's working on Jeeps, on vacation - and get stuff done no matter where I'm at, no excuses. I have high hopes for it.
  • In Colorado, it is illegal for a woman wearing a red dress to be out on the streets after 7 p.m. (it's a old, old law, but apparently has never been removed).
  • This is the one I use for biking/running. I love the versatility, though obviously it's not very firearm-specific (I've got Alien Gear for that): https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/pistol-wear/
  • I've also got asthma, but it's much, much better controlled (don't need an inhaler) when I run regularly. I have to keep running regularly, though, or I'm back to needing it before every run. Mine is both allergy-related, and exercise-induced. The running takes care of the exercise-induced part and greatly reduces the…
  • The piercing is in the ear, and the part of the ear is called the daith. If you do decide to do it, just be real careful who you pick, and their aftercare regimen. :)
  • Have you tried the piercings for migraines? My husband would get debilitating migraines, to the point he would be in bed, and he'd get so weak and dehydrated from puking we'd invariably wind up in urgent care for fluids - and this was at least once a month. He hasn't had another one since getting the piercings in March…
  • Good luck with hitting your goals!
  • I take the vinegar a step further, and have some in a spray bottle, to spray the pits of every workout article of clothing, in addition to adding it to the load.
  • Good for you for sticking around so long, and for still trying. I somewhat understand the frustration with food availability at home. Dr. Pepper is my Achilles heel with my eating, and my husband refuses to give it up. So we always have a 12 pack in the fridge. I quit for over a year, but fell back into it, grrrr. Small…
  • I'm 45 and have been running off and on (mostly off) since I was in middle school. I grew up with marathon runners as parents (they still run). In about 2009-ish, I decided I wanted to stick with it, instead of continually stopping and re-starting. The older I get, the harder it is to pick up where I left off, so the…
  • Pretty much every day, even though I know there's many reason (and many ranges) of fluctuations. Keeps me on my toes.
  • I'm from the Denver, Colorado area, and I am the office manager/girl friday at a small law firm.
  • I'm 5'9" and my goal weight is 145. I'd say I'm medium-framed. For me, that's a loose size 10, a snug 8. I was an 8 in high school, but 130 lbs.
  • Seconding the running thing. Maybe the kids would want to be involved, too? Or cycling. Cheap bikes are on Craigslist to see if you like it. IMO, running is more of a year-round kind of thing, compared to cycling, depending on where you live.
  • Running is way cheaper than therapy, and it gives me the base to do all the other things I want to do, like hike 14ers and mountain bike and hike Jeep trails. You can totally do a C25K now. Good luck!
  • I was like this for two years while my husband (then fiance) was deployed. Unfortunately, I just survived (quite literally) on soda, since that was the only thing I could stomach without becoming nauseous. At 5'9", I was a really gross <120 lbs. The person that suggested the smoothies, I think, hit the nail on the head.…
  • A few things caused me to get off my butt. My biological mother had horrible eating habits, and never exercised. She died at age 51 in '00 of cancer (really the only person on either side to succumb to that disease, so far, knock on wood). I started seeing her when I looked in the mirror - especially around my stomach and…
  • I also hope to buy a bikini again; maybe this year, depending on how my relationship with gravity goes!
  • Congrats!! I'm training for a 1/2 in April, too. Good luck!
  • Outside of Denver, Colorado, USA.
