I did my first one without stopping or walking April 19th in 32:42. Slow I know but I was so pleased to actually DO it. Have a race this weekend, my goal is to come in under 30:00 Have gotten my mile and a half time from 19:40 in January to 13:14 on May 15th!

I do fish oil, magnesium, and vitamin D, sometimes a multi-vitamin, I also consider my coconut water a supplement for potassium.

Oooh, I actually go over the .75g/ body weight bit.... closer to .85. Hmm, but my overall acalories are set high right now for gaining, when I drop back down to maintenance that will lower and be right at .75.

Great post. For the lady that mentioned difficulty with pills you can try a high concentration liquid. I like SFH tangerine, but they have many flavors, no fishy taste or burps. http://www.strongerfasterhealthier.com/products/omega_3-oil/so3_super_omega-3_oil_10oz It's pricey but lasts a long time and you don't have to…

I had one in my office for a few days before taking it in to the gym. It was fun but my low back def got sore from having to sit up. A lot of times it just made me stand to do something that I really didn't need to sit down for.

Here is the website from teh AHA where you can run through all your factors and get a score and reccomendtations at the end. Really fast and easy. My hubby got a terribly low score, and I can't seem to find a test I can't ace (j/k) I told him he better catch up quick. http://mylifecheck.heart.org/Multitab.aspx?NavID=3

Thanks for sharing this Heidi, clearly it hits home for many. I love the CrossFit Lisbeth site. Here is the link if anyone wants to read her other essays. http://crossfitlisbeth.com/ I love the Failing but Fighting one, and Be Brave, too many to really choose though. Spend some time there, your inner warrior will thank you.

I got them the book for Mothers Day! Unconventional I know, but they seemed excited. I'm whacked, I went through and created a spreadsheet for every workout in every stage and made us all binders. Anything to make it easier and to show progress. I'm moving in a month and hoping they will continue it together. That's the…

Peanuts are actually a legume (bean), not a nut. Common misconception that they are a nut, don't feel bad. I wouldn't throw it out, just maybe not buy the next time. I did not love almond butter at all, and it was pricey, I'd rather stick to just eating nuts. If you get the big bags in the baking aisle they are less…

This, I was really disappointed with the almond butter. I did use it in a protein ball/bar mixture the other day and they turned out really well. I'll use it for that again in the future, but just straight with apples or carrots, egh.

When I switched to paleo my calories went way down, I've had to make an effort to eat more to get them back up. It's surprising how low calorie yet filling it is. I'm set in the 2200's for gaining muscle, so that's actually a great deal of volume of satiating food. I could easily eat 1600 and feel completely satisified.…

I wasn't looking for exact info per se, just thought it would be more informative in general. I don't have Celiac but I do believe I am grain sensitive.

I don't bother logging them here. I log them in beyondthewhiteboard.com, only 3$/month and has a great database and charts to see your progress in lifts, girls, heroes, etc. I just set my calorie intake high for activity level and then don't worry about eating back calories. Keeps it simple.

My husband has commented that I can be more aggressive now. I think it's more that I'm being more confidant and he's used to super laid back me. You are tapping into the fight response.... pretty common for sggressiveness to go up from what I understand. How to control it... I don't know, try to channel it into the…

You'll be fine if you eliminate it completely, you won't snap in half as the diary council would have you believe. As someone stated above, cut it out completley and then experiment with bringing it back in. I would cut it out completely if I didn't love cheese so dang much. I like two kinds of cheese: hot and cold.

This is hilarious, thank you. I was actually thinking of Portlandia before I even read it.

all great advice ^^^ I'd also look at your sleep and stress levels, not enough sleep and high stress in addition to strenuous exercise can up cortisol and the "tire"

Here's another article http://www.naturalnews.com/027978_nightshade_vegetables.html

It's not the carbs, I don't have Robb's book with me, I'll try to to remember to look it up tonight. It's something to do with the nightshade vegetables and autoimmune diseases like arthritis. Here's a little blurb about it. Looks like it's just a matter of finding out if you're sensitive or not. Maybe eliminate for a…

And not a stupid question!

I've read that white potatoes can be problematic for peopel with autoimmune disorders (along with a few other veg) For anyone else stay away if you are trying to lose weight. I still eat them occasionally but choose sweet when I can. Sweet potatoes are great

I wish they had included something with 3-5 Rep max sets, that would really be "heavy"

This is really interesting thank you for the share. I personally would rather do fewer at a heavier weight because A. I get a kick out the weight on the bar B. I don't want to spend a ton of time C. I don't have any injuries that would limit me I'm starting NROL4W with my mom next week and she has a weight limit of what…

I've been getting mine from a co-workers neighbor and they aren't as dark as others I've had in the past. This makes me sad. Apparently they aren't free range because of hawks... I have a neighbor that has them, been meaning to call her and switch.

Glad you're feeling better. Listen to your son! lol, too funny I didn't know what a Smith machine was so I googled it while reading your post, saw all the warnings about it. Especially the low back issues.

Oooh, I need to try the cheese crust. We made one with almond meal crust and it was a fail. There is a recipe out there for meatza (ground meat crust) didn't look too appetizing to me so haven't tried. I save my favorite local pizza place for a special occasion, I've been there twice since going paleo/primal in Feb and it…

I like the Fage brand as well, I'll get a tub maybe once a week or every other. I like fresh or frozen berries and walnuts. If you eat while the berries are still frozen it makes like a frozen yogurt. I used to eat it with grapenuts and missed the crunch, the walnuts give me the crunch plus needed fat and calories. I…

It sounds like you're writing a research paper... :) What reasons made people choose their specific nutritional plan and why they feel it benefits them. My brother had been doing Paleo/primal for a few years with great results, I started CrossFit, read Robb Wolff's Paleo Solution, did the 30 day challenge, and love how…

I can't speak to your particular injury but from what I've searched the Smith Machines put you at a higher risk of injury. Less stabilizing muscle activation, etc. Have you had asymmetrical problems in the past, maybe scoliosis? I'd ditch the Smith and watch form videos and have someone really watch your form.
