  • I'm proud of you and I dont even know you! I had a related aha moment. My daughter was seven months old and my husband deployed to Afghanistan for the third time in three years. I was talking to her one day while making dinner and I said, "hopefully you will get Daddy's physical discipline and dedication because Mommy only…
  • I usually plan ahead of time to have 3/4 cup cereal (honeynut cheerios is a fave, but the chocolate special K is bomb, too) and 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It's about 130 cals, but I eat it out of a cup and it's so sweet and cold and I don't know, I choose it over ice cream anyday. Plus, it's crunchy, so it…
  • My marriage has improved because my husband has been awesome and our sex life is better and I feel more valuable (which is odd, but true) so I am much more honest about my feelings and we tend to clear the air more quickly. My husband has always told me he loves my body however it is if I am happy with it and able to do…
  • So when my baby was young, I ate 2000 cals and also drank a full calorie Gatorade after every workout (on top of an already high water intake). That was the only way I could keep up my supply, but I lost very slowly. The weight came off MUCH faster after my daughter started on solids at about 9 months. Now she is 16 months…
  • I would be happy with that weight loss so far, depending on how close you are to your goal weight. I do think you probably need to eat more, but that's just because I don't eat less than 2000 on days that I run and find that my body revolts when I don't eat enough. You need to fuel your activities!
  • I got some rope and a bag and put all my girly dumbells together to make one heavy kettelbel-like weight. It was great for at home squats until I bought my squat rack.
  • Okay that's what I thought. I don't think it's a dumb question, it's just probably not one any of us can answer because we don't know what in dairy you're reacting to.
  • Are you talking about chocolate milk or milk chocolate candy?
  • Like a milk chocolate dove bar? Depends what you are allergic to, I guess. My husband was allergic to casein (milk protein) and he couldn't have even tiny amounts. Other people who are just sensitive could prob hack the dairy in milk chocolate no problem.
  • I'm always blown away by these posts. I eat really healthy, whole foods and I'm still CONSTANTLY struggling to hit under 1800. How are people stuffing themselves on less?! I am so jealous!! I have to go to bed after dinner just so I don't start planning second dinner. OP, maybe a slice of havarti cheese?
  • I would start slow. Like PP suggested, take the long way to class and walk like you are running late. Find some work out clothes you feel good in and wear them often enough that you don't feel "different" in them (it helps to not feel like you are standing out when you are wearing them in public). At home, do push-ups and…
  • Just the basics: Go to bed a little bit earlier (especially if your kids are still waking at night). Sleep is important for weight loss. And I find that eating more frequently helps. My afternoon snack is often fruit and a palm full of nuts!
  • Lift weights, love! Then you can be purposeful with your diet, because you'll want to make sure you are eating enough to build muscle. Also, try to turn your focus from calories to hitting macros--it will help with what might feel like a need to be attentive lest you regain fat. I know what you are talking about with the…
  • I lost two cup sizes and I am still breastfeeding so I expect it will be three by the time we wean. I lost 45lbs. Have to say that as much as I miss my old boobs, I really love the freedom of C-cups!!
  • My husband and I are looking for mats for our home gym as well, and we will be doing Olympic lifts. The nearest Tractor Supply store is 2.5 hours away... Is it worth it to make the trip?
  • I think the best thing to do is to drink a ton of water today and go for a run. Sometimes exercise is the best way to get back in the game because it makes you feel good and motivates you to fuel yourself with healthy foods that make your body feel good. Another thing that sometimes helps me is making a to-do list of…
  • I think you have to trust how you feel. For a lot of people, lifting feels fantastic and they love the changes they see in their bodies, but if you aren't enjoying your journey, there is nothing wrong with adding in the activities that do make you feel strong and successful. Running is my favorite exercise and I've tried…
  • I use runkeeper, too, and I LOVE it, although I think its pace calculator is off, which makes me question its GPS as well. If I haven't run in two days (rare) I love the emails they send like "Hey let's go run!" or the after run emails when they're like "Yo that was a sweet run!" I don't have any friends on there (I'm not…
  • Just start. Buy your shoes and wake up the next morning and run slow intervals. It is the best feeling in the world. My doc told me not to run until I was 150lbs (i had to lose 40lbs) and I followed his advice, but I also had prior injuries that required that much weight loss. I have ALWAYS wanted to be a runner. My…
  • I'm no expert and don't have enough stats to make a better guess, but I think you probably need to eat more. I plateaued around your weight and had to up my calories in order to see additional fat loss. However, I don't recommend eating just whatever to hit that number. Eat good nutritious foods. Being healthy is hard…
  • CONGRATS! I know what you're talking about, and it is really weird for me (I shop in my old size just automatically). Most importantly though... amazing job on your weight loss.
  • You look awesome! I fluctuate 4 pounds overnight easily. I was 140 yesterday and 136 this morning, so don't think too much about it. Banishing the scale is a good idea. Measurements are FAR more rewarding anyway! Congrats on your work so far. Love your tats!
  • I eat oatmeal with fresh fruit and two egg whites every morning, but I make my husband something significantly more substantial during the week. His favorites are: One piece of Milton's multigrain (thick bread) toasted with one wedge of light laughing cow Swiss spread on top, capers, two slices fresh tomato, and topped…
  • My husband is deployed so I am a 24hr/day mommy and totally know what you are dealing with. I love to run or walk with my daughter in the stroller, and I have an elliptical and so I use that sometimes, but she is clingy right now and tries to climb on it so that can be difficult to manage. My most effective workout is…
  • I am 5'5.5". I felt curvy and sexy at 160 in a size 10 and I feel sexy now at 140 in a size 4. My mother is a size 4 as well, but she is 115 pounds and an inch shorter than me, my sister is a size 4 and probably 125/130. I don't think I have a large frame, per say, although I used to think that. It's crazy how wildly we…
  • I got a Gymboss interval timer and LOOOOOVE IT (20$ish on Amazon). I basically do an hour of alternating bodyweight exercises and some with a 15lb kettlebell that I picked up on sale. The interval timer allows me to go hard on whatever exercise I'm doing, not for a certain number of reps, but for 30 seconds @ 100%, and…
  • Almond butter comes in these little jars so I carry one in my purse and then throw celery or carrots in there in the morning. I love imitation crab sticks (6g protein, 90 cals for three!) and you can eat them with or without cocktail sauce. I hardboil a dozen eggs every week and just pop those in a ziplock as needed. This…
  • It's actually pretty common to not lose weight easily while breastfeeding, despite it feeling like it "fell off" for everyone around you. Don't restrict your calories too much because you could lose your milk supply. You should probably be eating at least 1800-2000 calories (of GOOD FOOD) and drinking lots of water and…
  • Isopure is low (or no?) carb and has 50g protein in 2 scoops I think. The vanilla is good with vanilla unsweetened almond milk :) I am in the same boat as you, so I don't have any answers, but I thought I'd share the shake brand. I drink it after my workout for my AM snack.
  • Thanks! I am excited because I really enjoy strength training. I appreciate the resources! Does anyone have any advice on adjusting my calorie intake? I've read that I need a surplus to build muscle, but I'm nervous about putting on weight right before my husband comes home.
