Hi all, I often look at the boards but haven't posted yet.

So I'm 23, 5'7 and looking to lose the last couple of pounds (not too hung up on numbers, more the stomach and arm flab!). I'm relatively (cardio) fit - can run for 40+ mins easily, but I think my diet is off skew. I have a feeling my metabolism is a bit sluggish despite regularly exercising. My family has a history of slow metabolisms - many of the women are on thyroxine. I've been tested but my levels are in the normal zone.

I've opened my diary for public perusal and would love any tips you can give me. If you look far enough back you can see that I was a 1200 calorie girl (sorry!) ... I am now working on eating more although feel like I'm just maintaining (on a very low level) really. I am now trying to eat around 1500 and am currently eating back my exercise calories - therefore eating about 1800-1900 cals a day.

Any tips on diet? Or general advice? Thanks in advance all!! Anything is appreciated.

  • Forgot to mention - I'm thinking I should UP my protein intake? I eat a lot of yoghurt already so thought I might buy a high protein low carb protein powder?

Isopure is low (or no?) carb and has 50g protein in 2 scoops I think. The vanilla is good with vanilla unsweetened almond milk :)

I am in the same boat as you, so I don't have any answers, but I thought I'd share the shake brand. I drink it after my workout for my AM snack.
