The good news is that it is perfectly possible to lose weight when you are post menopausal - the bad news is you have to do everything longer and harder - eat at a small deficit, take up vigorous exercise and do it everyday and you will lose but it takes years. I eat 1200 to around 1800 a day, lift heavy two or three times a week, personal training weekly, two yoga sessions, maybe six or more hours of gardening, four kids and I'm painting the house and I can't lose a kilogram!! Just saying...missed the running - run at least 10k a week

If it is at all possible take up an evening class of yoga or something similar. It's not too strenuous and keeps you away from the kitchen!
