That's awesome, congratulations! Stick with it as written, have fun with it and be kind to yourself in the process. Epsom salt baths and foam roller work wonders.

Good point - the 10k plan was 14 weeks and I was well prepared but ready to get on with it!:)
-
I am absolutely borrowing that! :)

Thanks BeeerRunner. I think that is the route I am going to take. The half is in Sept so this will give me a chance to use his plan to get a full half dry run in, recover, ramp back up, taper and fingers crossed hit the race feeling really good.

:o Brave soul! And here I am mapping out a 23 week training plan LOL!! This is so helpful - confidence building.

WOW Pondee629 - I love that you ran your first at 61! Your 2:17:10 is awesome and let's me know that my goal to complete in under 2:40 is realistic with the work that I'm committed to putting in. Thanks for the tip about the coach and I'm checking out the plan on amazon for sure.

Thanks TavistockToad! I've looked at the site and the novice 1 plan as a starting point looks straight forward enough.

Same challenge here and seriously need a win at this point. 43 yof 5'3" 130lbs trying to reach 120. I also have a high bod fat% (31% per my bath scale and the mirror :embarassed: ) and have been having a hard time switching my mindset from lb loss to lbm gain since I'm so close so I've been digging in trying to shed the 10…

Today is stretch day and week 5 alpha starts tomorrow. Congratulations on what you've achieved...I was encouraged by your experience because I've been a bit frustrated with my results so far. I've done insanity and saw results in the first 4 weeks but with T25 although LOVING the workouts I feel stuck on results. I keep…

No one looks at their unhealthy mom/sig other/friend/employee and says "wow I'm so grateful for what you've done to yourself in the name of taking care of us". In short, it's ok to make taking care of yourself a top priority. I know that 's two sentences but that really is the best thing I've learned:smile:
-
That's it, you are on your way! Congrats and keep posting:)

Awesome job! I have my first 5K coming up next month...we'll see how it goes!!

WHOA this was exactly what I needed! Thank you so much for sharing this...I'm 43, lost 60 pounds with nutrition and cardio, reached my goal weight but my bod fat% is still waaaay out of hand (plus I CRAVE a different look and feel to my body). Thanks to the MFP community I KNOW the key will be to start lifting but I'm too…

I'm a big coffee lover too drinking over 12 cups loaded with sugar and creamer most days-yikes! I switched to half decaf with stevia and sugar fee/calorie free coffee syrups instead of sugar and creamers. If I want to mix it up to make it look like my old friend cup o joe, I'll add almond or fat free milk or some protein…

WOW!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your story; you look fantastic! Your pride is oozing through and you've earned it:). I'm 5"3' (always been chubby too) and started a job with some really wacky folks and practices. Three years in, I gained 60 lbs. The extra lbs, being 40+ and some medical ailments that I want to…

They're doing it to annoy you... and it seems to be working. Oh, congratulations on not having to hold on to anything. That's a total NSV. [/quote] that's good!!!

I'm a big coffee drinker too:drinker: All day right up to bed time, with lots of flavored creamer and Splenda in each cup. I now use 1 Tb Torani Sugar Free flavored Coffee Syrup (0 cal/0g prot/0.5g carb/0fat/0g sugar/2.5mg sodium) and Stevia or Cinnamon/Vanilla extract and Stevia. Sometimes if I REALLY want the creamy…
