https://www.fitbit.com/user/24LWJV I've had various fitbits over the years and have lost a total of 50 lbs using fitbit in conjunction with this app. I have a goal of 10K steps per day but have been inactive for quite some time both with fitbit and MFP. I have at least 25 more pounds to lose and so I'm back again. I…

And I totally agree about the HRM. If nothing else, Walmart sells the wrist wear type for $20. Of course the ones with the chest strap are ideal.I use a Polar FT4 with chest strap and love it! It's so much more accurate than the wrist....

It doesnt have a button. The fitbit is more an estimation of daily burn. It calculates on "past history" about how much you burn for the day. Example 2200 cals for the day. If you move less, it will automatically and constantly decrease that number. If you move more, it will increase that number. It's an estimate.

Interested in the answers. I have lost most of mine by dieting alone, but I like throwing in some training to help with bones and toning.

I, too, am a night shift nurse. You are welcome to friend me and check out my diary (which is open to friends only) to see what I eat. I work 3 nights a week. I just log from midnight to midnight and know that if I worked the night before and I"m off that night, I will probably be eating all 24 hours from MN to MN. That's…

1/4c FF Cottage Cheese + 1/4tsp Vanilla + 1/4tsp Cinnamon + 1 packet Splenda = Delish! Taste almost like Cheesecake. I HATE Cottage Cheese but I saw a recipe for it and I had some in the fridge left over from a dip recipe I did on Sunday. I think I might have to do this again!

I am curious about low carb/Atkins. I've sorta tried it before for 4 weeks and was tired, lethargic and constipated. I quickly gave up. But wondering if maybe I start a little slower... what would happen. Looking for people who do Atkins so I can use their open diaries as inspirations and for ideas. Please add me as a…

I'll be honest and I like to learn and ask questions. This is a life long process for me and I'm in for the long haul! I do not reply to food journal completion posts when I…

It does depend on the person and it has nothing to do with their BMI. To generalize everyone and only hire those with a certain BMI is ridiculous.

I like the bottle shakes, but mainly as a way to add protein to my diet (I buy the ones that have 20gms/drink). I do not do meal replacement and usually have one WITH breakfast. They taste good, low carb and the sodium isn't that bad. It's a great way to jumpstart your weight loss journey, but it's much more important to…

Those are very good questions. I wish I could help you but I'm still in the beginning of my adventure. I am eager to hear what others will advise.

I always got "You look so ... Mature!" I never realized that was slang for old/fat. I was 25 at the time and the woman thought my husband (who's fit and 4years older) was MUCH younger. Ugh. And while I'm still in my 20's I hate being called Maám!
