I was diagnosed 18 years ago and have had good periods where I have been able to manage it without meds, and not so good periods where I've needed the meds. The thing that helps the most is getting sleep regularly, eating well, and moving. It takes a while to learn to listen to your body and I've learned when to dial it…

When I started C25K, I couldn't do the Week 1 intervals. I spent 3 weeks building to the point that I could sort of make it through week 1 before I officially started. The best thing I learned from this forum was to slow down. I still run slower than I can walk, but I can run for 20+ minutes now without stopping. I'm…

This is pretty much me. I love my Merrells. I've been fitted at running stores for running shoes multiple times, but they've always ended up hurting my calves and/or feet. When I decided to give a pair of minimal shoes a try, my foot and leg pains decreased tremendously. I have three different pairs of Merrells I rotate…

I used to be the world's pickiest eater and didn't like much of anything. Now I can't believe all the yummy foods I've been missing and mostly look forward to trying new things. I've heard it can take tasting something 7+ times to begin to acquire a taste for it. So I've found ways to make certain foods more tolerable.…

I'm a bit addicted to mine. It is eye opening how little I walk on an average day. I've had other cheap pedometers in the past, but I really like the size and features of my fitbit (I have the one). It's very easy to set up, I love that it syncs with my phone without me having to remember to plug it in and that it only…

This is so true. I had a couple of close to 80 hour weeks in a row where between family commitments and work I was getting about 4 hours of sleep. I told myself I didn't have time to work out, but really if I had only worked 75 hours those weeks and taken an hour for myself I probably would have been more productive in the…

Offer to bring something and make it something healthy that you'll eat. I probably wouldn't eat anything before hand because even watching what you eat you're probably eating more than you think you are. I allow myself to enjoy being out in moderation, but typically when we do things like that it is a potluck and I bring…

These are two of my go-tos as well. Yum!

I'm feeling the same way. I actually sucked it up and used the treadmill this morning, but I really hate the treadmill so I can sympathize. The times I have gone when it's dark, I've taken one of the dogs, but that presents a whole other set of obstacles (carrying a bad of poop and running is not something I enjoy).

Just do it! Honestly it took me a few weeks to get used to it, but now I'm so bummed when I miss a morning workout that it's extra motivation to get up in the morning. I work out and then have breakfast. Also getting out and enjoying the fresh air helps to wake me up and get me moving. I hate days where I'm stuck inside.

I'm 255 and started a couple of weeks ago. I'm alternating days between shredding and C25K and I've done 5 days of the shred. I've definitely noticed a difference in the amount I can do from day 1 to day 5. I can now do 10 girly push-ups and I could barely do 2 on day 1. I haven't lost much weigh, but I have lost inches.…

^^ this! I get up 45 minutes earlier than I used to and get my workout in before everyone else's day starts. When you make it a point to not have yourself be your last priority things seem to fall into place.

I'm using RunKeeper

I'm not there yet, but when I get there I plan on hitting sale and clearance racks and just buying what I need to get by. I've been looking at a lot of refashion blogs for ideas as well for inspiration, so I'm planning on attempting to re-work some of my favorite items so I can get more use out of things. We'll see how…

Congratulations! What a great outlook! I love your writing. And this just made my day. Wishing you continued success!

I do stretches before getting out of bed. It's worse in the morning which is unfortunately the time I have to exercise so I go slow and take my time warming up. On the days my warm up isn't cutting it, I dial back my workout a bit. I'd rather take it easy one day than have to stop for a few weeks. My dr didn't recommend…

Everything in moderation. I love Dove promises or other small dark chocolate squares. They're small, not a lot of calories and satisfy a chocolate/sweet craving.

I use my HRM and use that number as cardio. It's interesting to see the difference between days where I really push myself and days like today where I was under the weather and just trying to make it through.

I'm currently managing with wearing good shoes and stretching before getting out of bed. If I notice it getting worse, I'll dial back a work out or two and that has helped me for the moment.

I get them when I haven't had enough water or am low on potassium.

Yes, you should go to the dr. I was actually at the dr. today for almost the same reason - I've just felt on the verge of a migraine for the last week and a half. If it was a full blown migraine, I'd have been there a lot sooner. That's no fun.

I've only been working out 35-45 mins 3xs a week and am seeing results. As long as you're tracking and being honest with yourself, I don't see why not.

I'm working on becoming a jogger and I was around the same weight when I started. My only advice is listen to your body. I've tried multiple times in the past and like you had my feet cramping up and hurting and I convinced myself that I just needed to push through the pain. Eventually I got to the point where I had to…
