  • Well there's the difference! Mine is a "cheapie" at only $25 and it only asked for my age and gender, so I basically need to invest in a better model huh?
  • I can't do Atkins because of my kidneys, so I'm doing the Sugar Busters diet which allows low glycemic index fruits and veggies and protein. I also am not supposed to count calories but find it hard not to do so. I feel like after years of counting, I still should, so I'm still not used it. I love the fact that I'm giving…
  • Thanks for the kind words girls. :drinker:
  • Here I am *****ing and complaining for a couple of weeks now about how I'm not losing any weight when it dawns on me... meds! I'm taking 2 different meds for depression and I recently read that one of them causes weight gain. Now I don't know if the weight gain is from the pills themselves, or if it's due to increased…
  • I've actually cut down on the carbs and if I do have them, they're the good kind (whole wheat), and my sodium levels are in check, so I don't know what's going on.:grumble:
  • Way to go! :drinker:
  • Those are the ones that are still okay to sell and to take according to the FDA.
  • A fitness pal of mine who is in great shape listened to me telling her how I am doing everything right, i.e. drinking 96 oz of water a day, eating my correct calories (or just below), and exercising and I'm still losing and gaining the same 3 lbs over and over again. She told me that maybe I'm drinking too much water and…
  • That's my whole point. I'm supposed to eat 1200 a day and never come close to that on a day to day basis. I'm lucky if I reach 1000. I'm afraid if I keep this up that I will go into starvation mode and then the weight will never come off!:frown:
  • I ate Kashi go lean cereal with light soymilk (200 cal) and for lunch I ordered pasta with grilled shrimp and marinara sauce (after eating the shrimp I didn't have the appetite to eat the pasta, so hardly any calories there). See what I mean?
  • I calculated the totals here on MFP and after exercising tonight I still will have over a 1000 calories to eat for my dinner and snack! How the heck am I supposed to eat that much by tonight? I hardly ate anything for breakfast and lunch which is why I have such high numbers of calories still yet to go. And in fact this is…
  • Anyone here ever tried it? I just got the book today and the Shopper's Guide. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever tried it with any success? Or failure. Thanks.
  • Congrats on your success!:drinker: You are an inspiration and proof that it can be done. And how exciting on becoming a personal trainer!
  • Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I started drinking 96 oz of water a day and have a glass or two of iced tea as well, so I think I'm okay.
  • Okay I have a question. Being a heavy iced tea drinker I want to know if it counts towards your hydration or not. I mean the side of the Lipton tea box says it does, my doctor says no because it has caffeine, and I've heard it does because it's made with water. So which is it? This drives me crazy and I need to know since…
  • I'm here for ya too!:drinker: Let's do this thing!
  • Yes you're right except for the quick fix part. I have tried Weight Watchers and Nutrisystem too which also didn't help me. I'm not necessarily looking for a quick fix but rather a good jump start to losing weight. But like I said, nothing has worked for me in the past and that's another reason I'm frustrated. I try to…
  • Thanks everyone. I will try to remember to not compare myself to others. It just seems so frustrating at times, that's all.
  • There is absolutely no need to get rude! I'm frustrated because I keep reading on all these people who are losing tons of weight and some within the 1st couple of weeks, so I wonder, why not me?
  • My doctor prescribed it to me so I'm assuming it's still okay to prescribe. So do you think I should go up to 1400 cal/day instead of 1200 that was recommended to me? And if I stay at 1200, will my body eventually come out of "starvation mode"?
  • I took it and it did nothing for me. I even ate high fat meals on purpose to see if I got any of the treatment effects and didn't. I was one of the lucky few it doesn't seem to bother. But also because of that, it didn't help me lose any weight. AND it costs $50 a month! It was a complete waste of my time and money.

  • This actually scared me because I had been taking it for awhile now (didn't help me). Luckily I gave up on it since it wasn't working, so I quit taking it.
  • I just don't understand it. I just started taking Phentermine a week and a half ago and it curbs my appetite. I am set to eat 1200 calories a day and struggle to get to it since I have no appetite. I come pretty close though like between 1000 and 1175. I started drinking 64 oz of water a day like I'm supposed to and yet I…
  • Never mind, I looked it up. It looks totally kick a**!
  • What's Turbo Jam?
  • You are NOT obese! I would die to be as thin as you and with your measurements! Don't let this bother you.
  • Special K cereals and some by Kashi are really good and low in calories, fat, and sugar.
  • Thanks for this, it is incredibly helpful! :) I've never read any books by Jillian, so I think I may want to start, she's so inspirational.
  • Now I understand what I'm doing wrong. I do good to reach 1000 cal/day because the Phentermine I take makes me feel full and I don't really feel like eating. I excercise too which depletes my calories even further, so now I know to eat at least 1200 cal/day and to eat more if I excercise to cover the depletion.
