I was considering trying Alli, but as a lot of people rightfully said on here, why waste £50 per month when you can eat sensibly and exercise AND keep the weight off!
This is only another get slim quick gimmick that promises the earth.

Apparently it 'can' work, but if you don't eat a very low fat diet in conjunction with it, it can have some very unpleasant side effects.
Basically it works by stopping your body from absorbing as much fat as it usually does from the food you eat...it eliminates this fat through your stools. So, if you eat a lot, or even a fairly normal amount of fat, this is eliminated through your stools, and thus it can give you very very bad diarrhoea and wind etc. Apparently it can be so bad that you can't control yourself, and there has been cases of people not being able to get to the toilet in time. Personally not something I want! So, if you have to eat such a low fat diet anyway, you may as well just eat healthily and lose the weight slowly so it doesn't come back. They reckon you only lose one extra pound for every two or three you lose yourself...not enough for that kind of side effect if you ask me!!!!!0 -
I have tried alli before and I did lose weight. You have to be very careful about the amount of fats you ingest or the sideeffects ("treatment effects") can get pretty grusome. I gained the weight back because I stopped taking it so I could have the fatty foods I wanted. I hadn't decided to make a lifestyle change yet. I can see how someone could eat healthy exercise and use alli as a supplement but I agree with good old eating right and exercising. If you're really curious and have the money to spend, it's certainly not the worst pill out there. All it does is block fat, it doesn't speed your metabolism or give you a crazy jolt of caffine.0

Be careful, you will poo!!!
When I was on it, the first two weeks, I lost 6 lbs.
Then I started pooing, with out knowing.
I would wake up in the night and feel wet in my undies. It was leakage!
Then one day at work, I went walking, slipped a little toot out and it was, POO!!
I had to buy new undies at work and get a bleach stick for the back of my white capri's.
I finally went home and threw it away.
I followed the diet plan as well.0 -
Why would anyone want to block out all the fat???
Fat is responsible for transporting and metabolizing some very important nutrients.
If you are to block fat absorption, then vital vitams and other nutrients are not going to be absorbed and used by your body, leading to malnourishment...........
It takes fat to burn fat, just as your car takes gas to run. Same concept.0 -
Fat is not the enemy. Some fat is good and some fat is bad. Eat more good fats and eat in moderation. No need for supplements. Then you won't heave to deal with poo leakage. Just my $0.02.0

I took it and it did nothing for me. I even ate high fat meals on purpose to see if I got any of the treatment effects and didn't. I was one of the lucky few it doesn't seem to bother. But also because of that, it didn't help me lose any weight. AND it costs $50 a month! It was a complete waste of my time and money.0
