Here I am *****ing and complaining for a couple of weeks now about how I'm not losing any weight when it dawns on me... meds! I'm taking 2 different meds for depression and I recently read that one of them causes weight gain. Now I don't know if the weight gain is from the pills themselves, or if it's due to increased appetite (which I had before getting prescribed Phentermine). I think maybe it's just slowing my metabolism to almost a halt because with the Phen I'm not hungry and barely eat all my calories for the day, I started exercising, and I drink 64-96 oz of water daily. I'm just not losing, and now I think it's because of the medicine. I feel like an idiot for not realizing it before.:grumble:

Aha! You may have figured it out. There's all sorts of things that effect weight gain/loss.

But it seems like you've lost 2 lbs. in two weeks! Is that correct? Because if it is, you go girl! A pound per week is perfectly fine.

Try not to beat yourself up.
I think you are doing GREAT!! Just think about this: if you weren't
so disciplined in your eating/exercise/water intake, you could
have actually *gained* weight because of those meds
    BUT YOU DIDN'T!

Keep up the good work - it will pay off! :flowerforyou:

    I was there too!
When I started...i busted my butt...everyday...more than an hour of cardio...lifting every other day...super careful--no junk ever diet...
Losing weight was unbearably slow...I couldn't believe how hard it was.

Until I found out that I was hypothyroid.

    I agree, I think you're doing great.

Better to lose a little than gain a lot!

Keep up the hard work. Don't give up!
  • Thanks for the kind words girls. :drinker:
