  • Count me in! I'm not looking to lose a whole lot but need some accountability buddies! My CW is 142 as of today (Monday weigh ins)
  • I completely disagree with this post. A fast does NOT help to break a plateau. You will lose weight temporarily and yes sometimes it is beneficial to detox your system, but not for the purpose of weight loss necessarily. Best way to break a plateau is to change it up, try some new exercises, change your diet, drink more…
  • Central Alberta here! Welcome to the site! I've been here for over 3 months and I love it. The people here are so inspiring and supportive, no matter what your goals there are HUNDREDS here to help guide and encourage you!
  • C25K couldnt hurt anyone I dont think, whether she needs to be able to sprint or not. I like to use beachbody home workout videos. I did a round of P90x and now am on Turbofire. Being a good athlete is about more than being able to run, its endurance, and having the muscle and stamina to endure the game. Anything that you…
  • I was on Depo for almost 6 years. I gained a lot of weight right off the bat, and so did many of my friends on the shot as well. I also got pregnant on it, after using it for over 5 years consistantly. The doctors here where I live wont even prescribe it anymore because its been found to cause osteoperosis (sp??) and some…
  • I was on Zoloft a number of years ago and it caused me to immediately gain weight. It also made me feel empty and emotionless. I hope it works for you, out of all of the antidepressants i've been on Zoloft was the worst. Take care!
  • We were shopping for dresses for my friends wedding about a month ago and the owner of the bridal store we were at said that they are anticipating a textile strike early in the new year so to order in December at the latest for a wedding on the same date as yours. I dont know what kind of truth there is behind that but…
  • HAHAHAHHA!!! That's awesome!
  • Thank you! I'd love to know what that book is! I'll order it today! I'd love to be out biking all of the time to start working on it now, but there is over a foot of snow on the ground. Frusterating but that's alberta I guess!
  • My kids love Pilates. I have an older Windsor Pilates 20 min workout DVD that my daughter BEGS me to do with her (she's 5) :)
  • Chocolate protein shake with almond milk, its how I start my day everyday!
  • That does sound about right, but keep in mind that everyone's body is different. The only way to get an accurate number for cals burned is to invest in a heart rate monitor. I find that most of the time the numbers on MFP are WAY more than actual calories burned. Once I got my HRM it all made so much more sense and I didnt…
  • OOPS double post but I wanted to add something anyway! If you MUST have bread, the BEST BEST BEST GF bread I have EVER had was Udi's sandwich bread. The slices are smaller than regular bread, so less carbs in comparison anyways. It's a little pricier than other GF breads but 100% worth it!
  • We are gluten free at my house and I try to eat low carb as well. If I need something sandwich like, I will often opt for a corn tortilla. They are gluten free and contain significantly less carbohydrates than things like bread, english muffins, bagels, etc. Generally a lot lower cal too!
  • Ahhhh I guess this is the part where we all sit back and wait for the controversial argument to start. In case I end up the first response to this I will forewarn you that there are SEVERAL people on this site who strongly oppose the HCG diet and other posts i've seen like this end up a 10 page fight between the HCGers and…
  • For those worried about knees you can sub Plyometrics (the only really high impact workout) for CardioX which has a lot less jumping around. Plyo is a great burn, none of the other P90x can rival it, but as someone with relatively good knees, it even gets to me sometimes.
  • I almost finished my first round before I got bored with the workout. I had great consistant results. I personally think the program needs more cardio, that's why I am switching it up now. But all in all great workouts, fast results, and Tony is an awesome motivator!
  • I've come to a point where the concept of drinking from another animals mammary glads freaks me out a bit. I've made the switch to almond milk a couple of months ago, I dont think I could look back now. I've grown accustomed to the taste and love the lower cals :) And it makes my chocolate protein shakes taste SO much…
  • I agree, core synergistics in addition to AbRipperX will definately give you a good core/abdominal workout. I like ARX because it's fast and effective, but core is where it's at! I pour sweat from that one, and it reaches every muscle group in your core.
  • MFP sets protein WAY too low. I go over by quite a lot everyday, I use MFP's max on the chart as a minimum when I track, and always try to be over, but that's me. If you are exercising you need a lot of protein to help repair and build muscle tissue. If anything try to stay below in cals, carbs or sugars, they matter a lot…
  • I am nearly done my first round of P90x and I am WAY better at almost every move than I was when I first started. You'll notice that things will get easier once you gain some strength in the muscles that support those exercises. I didnt think I could ever do a pull up, and though I can only do 6-7 unassisted now its still…
  • We are gluten free at my house due to my 3 year old having Celiac disease. It is a little tricky to get used to in the beginning because gluten seems to be in EVERYTHING. Feel free to add me and ask any questions that you would like!
  • I use almond milk every morning to make my protein shakes! It's wonderful stuff, regular milk almost tastes weird to me now LOL.
  • ALBERTA!!!!
  • It wont harm anything, you just need to find alternative sources of fibre etc at least that's what i've found. Eating gluten free isnt too tough once you get past the bread and pasta, I like corn pasta and find it tastes better than wheat pasta! Meat and veggies dont have wheat in them so your biggest challenge will be…
  • We are gluten free at our house due to my son having Celiac disease. I have noticed that I bloat a lot when I eat wheat now, and had bloating issues for years before his diagnosis that I couldnt pinpoint. I feel 100% better not eating gluten (gluten can also be found in most processed foods, making it ALOT easier for us…
  • I drink a protein shake for breakfast every morning. I have half before my morning workout and the other half after. It really helps to keep my energy levels high and I take solace in the fact that I am getting a lot of the vitamins and minerals I need from something that tastes like chocolate :)
  • Wow thank you everyone! And to whomever wrote about men with bloody nipples YIKES! If mine got to the point of bleeding I dont know what I would do!
  • The brother came by our house last night after calling us. As soon as he come through the door my husband swept him off downstairs to his home office where they stayed for at least an hour as I watch UFC with our other house guests. When they came up and it was obvious things were all good, I felt at ease. The kids met him…
  • We kind of dodged it for the day now I think. We didnt call her back to tell her for sure that my son couldnt go, she didnt call us. Dinner has come and gone and i'm assuming the rest of the family is all there talking crap about us. Whatever, at least I dont have to sit there all uncomfortable worrying about what to say…
