  • I think when I said "competitive" I was trying to put it nicely! Yes, he is a busy body and a know it all who doesn't like to be wrong! I like your idea of making it more about strength gains etc. We had a really good chat on the mat at the gym the other day about beating our personal bests and he even showed me one of his…
  • I kind of did tonight... he fell asleep on the couch before dinner then after dinner had two pieces of toast. I told him off because he clearly isn't eating enough through the day and definitely isn't eating enough before/after going to the gym. He always looks really sickly and pale after a workout whereas I bounce around…
  • This sounds like such an awesome way to work together! I am actually glad that we aren't both on MFP as we already work at the same employer and we are friends on Facebook so it is nice to have some personal space in the cyber world!
  • Ooooh I like all of these posts, thanks heaps! He isn't on MFP and doesn't really understand calorie counting but has some really weird ideas about food. Tonight, he told me that you should only really eat red meat once a week... I think once he starts seeing my transformation more, he will realise that I actually do know…
  • I don't think it really matters when you eat, as long as you eat the right amount of calories. So if eating less throughout the day and then having a bigger dinner suits you, then just do it. I am a bit the same; when I was a child dinner used to be the biggest meal of the day. I try to keep my dinner around 500cals but I…
  • After a terrible couple of months both food and exercise wise, I am into my second week on track. I went from 81kg at my lowest to 87kg at my heaviest which was a HUGE wake-up call for me and the biggest gain I have had since I started losing weight in January 2011. I started IIFYM and have found it very satisfying - I am…
  • I try and save at least 68cals which equals one slice of my peanut butter banana fudge. That usually keeps me on track. Or I make up a batch of Weightwatchers jelly and have some of that. The fudge is so easy to make: 3 tbsp unsalted peanut butter 1 banana 3 tbsp coconut oil (extra virgin) 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey) Mix…
  • Yeah, I am using water this weekend as I left my almond milk at work! I bought the unsweetened version and found it pretty much tasted like trim milk in the shake anyway. Just found a website that has some good deals in my country for Optimum so I am going to grab some. Thanks heaps for the help!
  • Is this just a shake and go or do you add to it? Just to makes things even more complicated, I am hoping to find something that has some flavour and can just chuck in my shaker and go. Don't have access to a blender at the moment...
  • It's lactose intolerance. Thanks for this - I shall do some research on what high purity whey isolates are floating around. I am happy even for a powder that has minimal dairy. I won't die from having a teeny amount in my diet.
  • This happened to meat the beginning of my weight loss when I did a course of meal replacement shakes (Optifast). I was eating a very low cal diet (under medical supervision) and found I had headaches, dizziness(from low blood pressure) and I also got REALLY cranky! Thankfully this was only temporary and once my calorie…
  • I have already lost 53 lbs, have another 30 to go. Feel free to add me :) Oh yeah and I am almost 30!
  • A chopped up banana with some cranberries and slivered almonds. I just smoosh it altogether! Sometimes I freeze the banana which makes 10 times better. Totally kills the cravings - I have given up dairy so needed something to replace the chocolate and this works a treat!
  • I too am lacking in guy fiends - but if you are a girl, feel free to add me! Keen for as much support as I can get! Still have 14kgs to go until I am at my goal so come at me!
  • I think it is important to try and eat them back. Sometimes this is hard, especially if you have created a lot of calories from exercise. I try eat back most of mine and I still lose weight. You have to remember that you are probably already eating to a deficit so not eating back any of your exercise calories can actually…

  • Dry roasted almonds. Green tea - preferably a flavored one. Freshly brewed coffee - just water and beans, no milk/soy. Oh and here is my latest go-to after dinner treat: - one banana chopped up (sometimes frozen, sometimes fresh) - 10gms cranberries - 10gms slivered almonds Since I cut dairy and soy from my diet and…
  • Yes! Cut out dairy a week ago and have lost almost 3kg! I'm allergic so obviously my body is loving being dairy-free!
  • Ahh, that is what I thought. Guess I will have to live with my chubbs!

  • I have lost 50lb - feel free to add me if you like. I won't lie, it wasn't easy but I did it nice and slowly so have kept it off!
  • I am a routine person. The more I have in my life, the better my mental state. Even when I eat not so good food, I log it but I never beat myself up over it and because of this, I could see myself doing this a very long time!
  • If you can get to a gym, I recommend high intensity interval training. I do it on the treadmill: some days for 20 mins and others for 40 mins. It has increased my fitness and has really changed the shape of my body. I started out with a 5 min jog then 3 mins power walk at highest incline then 1 min sprint at 1% and keep…
  • Wow. You are such an inspiration.
  • I have recently switched to whole milk on my cereal/scrambled eggs/homemade coffee. Still take soy for my flat whites as I am actually allergic to milk but I was quite surprised to find the calorie difference between whole and trim wasn't huge: 30mls reduced fat 15cals 30mls standard 18cals Not a huge difference calorie…
  • I used to have this exact same issue - until I started HIIT! No time to get bored when you are busting a gut at 15% incline!
  • SW: 234 (January 2012) CW: 185 GW: 180 Weigh in Dates: 4/1: 185 4/8 4/15 4/22 4/30 Total weight lost: My goal this month is to really try crack this plateau and to go a month with NO CHOCOLATE OR SODA!
  • Sun King by State of Mind is best song for a good quick run! Starts slow and then tempo gets faster. Good for intervals! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imp0BqHBxyQ
  • Those toned arms! Love them!
  • I just joined gym and have a really good weights plan that I do three times a week after a 10min warm up run and then I do one day of distance running. The weights program I am on is to tone and firm up - it's high on reps but if you are interested, I can share with you. On the days I do run and weights, only takes me an…
  • I am 29 and have lost 22kgs - I have heaps of motivation to spread! Add me!
  • I have a really good training plan that you can print off - if you give me your email address, I can send it to you! It starts off really simple and stretches it across several weeks.
