Does anyone know of any shakes out there that don't contain dairy? I haven't really looked myself yet but thought I would post this and see if anyone has some suggestions.
Thanks heaps!

Why can't you have dairy? If it's lactose intolerance, high purity whey isolates have virtually no lactose.

If it's for other reasons, the next higest quality protein type would be egg protein, and there are a variety of vegan options, including soy, spirulina, hemp, and pea proteins that I can think of off the top of my head. Soy is the most complete and absorbable of the vegan ones.

It's lactose intolerance. Thanks for this - I shall do some research on what high purity whey isolates are floating around. I am happy even for a powder that has minimal dairy. I won't die from having a teeny amount in my diet.

I'm lactose intolerant and use Optimum Nutrition's Gold Whey Isolates. it hasn't hurt me at all and it's pretty decently priced. :)

Is this just a shake and go or do you add to it? Just to makes things even more complicated, I am hoping to find something that has some flavour and can just chuck in my shaker and go. Don't have access to a blender at the moment...

You can drink it with just water or milk and shake it up in a shaker cup. Or you can put it in a blender with fruits or even eat it with oatmeal, make dessert recipes with like cheesecake, bars, etc.

ETA: you can get a shaker cup from ON for about $6

All of them you can mix in a blender cup with virtually any liquid and they usually come in Chocolate, Vanilla, Some sort of peanut butter flavor, strawberry, and sometimes cookies & cream. The fancier brands have even more flavors.

My recommendation for a "mixer" would be unsweetened almond milk. I had a lifting coach once that swore by orange datorade with vanilla protein for a "creamsicle" effect. You can get creative. Lots of people just use water but I think it's gross.

Yeah, I am using water this weekend as I left my almond milk at work! I bought the unsweetened version and found it pretty much tasted like trim milk in the shake anyway. Just found a website that has some good deals in my country for Optimum so I am going to grab some.

    Thanks heaps for the help!
