This is brand new information. I'm interested in trying nutritional yeast, and that is a very popular source of B-12. Thanks!

But I "did it right". I worked with a nutritionist on a plan that was unique and specific to me. It simply didn't work for me, although veganism clearly works for others, if only physically. Most people who change their diets don't bother with working with experts when they decide to change things up. Also, you might want…

There's only so much quinoa, tempeh, seitan, and beans one can eat while not getting enough protein. Plant-based eating works for some people, and I wish I had been one of them, haha. I keep thinking that I want to take another stab at it, as I haven't been feeling my best lately, but the constant hunger and unexplained…

I did it for several months. It was not amazing.

I had to learn the hard way, too. I went high raw for a week back in April because I hadn't been feeling my best. It made me feel much better and focused on my weight loss, to the point that I could eat a slice of pizza. I was sick for hours after eating it.

If you hated Sunwarrior, you're going to loathe Vega. Which Sunwarrior powder did you try? Depending on what you get, it can be awesome, just okay, or completely disgusting.
-
I'm a huge fan of Sunwarrior Classic. I absolutely hate the taste of stevia, so I'm more than happy to use the plain variety. I can't have it by itself, however. It's leagues better than other vegan powders *cough* Vega *cough*, but it's still too gritty to enjoy with just almond milk or filtered water. Speaking of Vega, I…

You don't look like Mariah at all.

I actually like Halo Top, but I'm weaning myself off of dairy. Fortunately, Halo Top has some vegan flavors, it's just a matter of me figuring out where to buy them. I also really enjoy NadaMoo. That is some of the best ice cream ever.
-
Truth: I know that I should stop buying things like Ben & Jerry's non-dairy ice cream. I lie to myself and say that it's healthier than it is because it's vegan, and that I'll only stop at the recommended serving size. I never do. :(

I'm up for this. I'm about to start an anti-anxiety medication that requires me not to drink at all, and I am not happy about it. Still, I'll take sanity over booze.
-
Possibly. I've taken cycling classes for the past three years, and it's never been an issue for me. I don't wear cycling shorts to class, so who knows? I stick to my regular active wear and it works. Also, don't worry about not being able to keep up. I started taking classes at 300 lbs., and everyone was supportive. I did…

You will be sore the day after your first session. Not just your butt, your entire body, although, your butt will be more sore than the rest of you. If you want to fully commit to cycling, I would recommend investing in a seat cushion, and a pair of cycling shoes. Regular athletic shoes just won't cut it. Also, take a…

A friend of mine worked at a coffeehouse during college (not Starbucks), and told me about all of the crazy things some people wanted when they ordered. One woman was very particular about having her muffin warmed up, saying that "the calories won't count" if the muffin was warmed up. My friend was studying nutrition and…

It actually interferes with weight loss, so no, it's not "unnecessary": https://www.sciencealert.com/here-s-why-you-should-never-eat-right-before-bed. Someone will point to having success while eating right before bed as anecdotal evidence that it doesn't cause a problem, but what they won't realize is that it probably…

While the 6:00 p.m. thing is bunk, you really should give your body a break and not eat anything 2-3 before you go to bed.

Probs. I was smart enough to workout extra hard last week because I knew this week would be a cluster. I'm just going to enjoy it and watch whatever weight I gain fall off next week.

I've found that working small treats into my daily plans for a few days out of the week works best.

I'm going to be as gentle as possible when I say that you should probably be eating more than 1000-1200. At minimum, it should be 1200, unless you're the under supervision of a physician and there's a medical reason for the low calorie count. What you refer to as "temptation" is probably just your body's way of saying,…

If shakes are going to make you happy, then have them. You're not going to live on them forever, and you can use them as a learning tool and adjustment aid as you transition into a healthier lifestyle. I'm a green smoothie person myself, because I hate eating anything before 11:00 a.m., so I get their appeal. A scoop of…

It's never taken less than an hour for me. I think it would be hard to do, especially if you're eating a lot of fresh foods. Maybe try to break everything up into little tasks that you can do at different points, instead of trying to do it all at once?

Add me! I'm mostly plant-based. I was a vegetarian for two years, moved back home for awhile, and since I wasn't the one buying groceries for most of that stretch, the vegetarian thing went out the window. I've since given up on being totally plant-based, since my body has let me know that it needs meat on several…

I'm in! Name: Elizabeth Starting Weight: Not ready to share Goal Weight: 170-ish Sleep: 7 hours Daily Steps: 12,000 Calories Burned: 2,000/day (I burn upwards of 3,000 daily, so this is reasonable for me) Weekly Weight Loss Goal: 1.5-2 lbs. I have to wait for my replacement Fitbit to arrive next week, and it'll be so on.

I would buy it new. My old Charge HR had issues with syncing with the app, and Fitbit couldn't fix it. It was still under warranty, as I'd had it for less than six months, but they still wouldn't budge. I would buy it from Walmart or Target, because you can get an extended warranty from them for not much money.

I've found that I've had the most setbacks when I was at my pithiest about food. I learned to chill and enjoy a little bit of what I really enjoyed every now and again, and have had much more success. And for the person who said sugar is the enemy, it's not. Your bad habits and negative thinking are what hold you back.

Not vegan, but I do enjoy vegan meals quite a bit. My favorite vegetarian and vegan blogs are Oh My Veggies (vegetarian) and Oh She Glows (vegan).

I keep mine closed. I used to have it open to friends, but then decided that I don't owe anyone anything after an MFP friend ranted about diary privacy, so I closed it up entirely. What I eat is my business, and I'm not interested in being judged or questioned about it. Also, when I first joined MFP, people would…

My ChargeHR isn't syncing its data with the app, and the app actually says I've gone inactive, despite wearing the tracker daily and starting challenges. I've synced it repeatedly, restarted it, and spoken to customer service, but to no avail. How do I get someone to help me?

This sounds awesome. Please send an invite my way. Thanks!
