Fitbit-New or Used?

I'm currently in the market for a Fitbit Charge HR-should I spend the extra cash and buy new? Or would buying a used one be okay too?
The person who is selling her Fitbit Charge HR said this was a replacement as her original was acting up. She now uses something else so has no need for it. They sell for $199 here she is asking $100.

My Fitbit is very reliable.
I will say the benefit of buying a new one is that you can take advantage of customer service if anything goes wrong. I got my Fitbit in July and the back broke about about a month. I called them and they rush shipped me a new one -- I got it within a couple of days. I don't know if that would have happened if I had bought it second-hand.0 -
Do not buy used or refurbed..
The hardware on these will breakdown (band, display button, even the brains of the watch will detach from the band)... Buyer beware of new or used..
But great app though..0 -
I would buy it new. My old Charge HR had issues with syncing with the app, and Fitbit couldn't fix it. It was still under warranty, as I'd had it for less than six months, but they still wouldn't budge. I would buy it from Walmart or Target, because you can get an extended warranty from them for not much money.0

Yeah, I wouldn't buy a used one. I LOVE my Flex, but they can be finicky little buggers, and it would be safer to have a receipt of an authorized purchase if anything goes wrong.0

I love my Fitbit - but I'd only buy new. Used = no warranty.
They do have issues from time to time, and Fitbit warranty/customer support is AWESOME. How do you know this person is not selling you the one that zonked out? I agree with "buy new, the warranty is a must". I would also skip the Charge HR and get one of the many $50ish models of trackers at first. Or find an $80 new Flex, if wrist-worn is a requirement. The HR functions are pretty inaccurate and unnecessary.0

I got my flex second-hand and I've loved it and had no problems with it. HOWEVER, I got it from my mom when she upgraded, so I know its history and that it was well cared for. It was also free, so if it breaks down from normal wear and tear, I'm not losing anything. Getting electronics from a stranger online is always a gamble.0

Okay-so get the flex instead? Which Fitbit would you recommend. I thought the added HR would be great for workouts etc?

I paid $138 for my charge HR at Costco. They have an awesome return policy there as well.0

Also agree with buying new. The electric portion of my Charge started falling off the band after about 8 months. Contacted customer support and they sent a replacement almost no questions asked and totally free of charge.
I am aware that the product will not last forever, but am glad they sent a replacement. They told me they fixed the problem - I got my charge when they first came out. We'll see how this new one holds up.0
