  • You can buy a pad or mat to exercise on. I have one that is about 1/2 thick and works somewhat well with jumping. Also, try to land like a cat. It actually is harder and a better workout I think to jump and land without a huge thud than just jumping high and crashing down.
  • Don't worry about a pound weight fluctuations in 3 days. Mine fluctuates daily by about 3-4 lbs between morning and night. Personally I weigh myself every morning but know when to be proud and when to panic. For example, If I drink beer on a Friday night losing a pound or two Saturday morning only means it likely is water…
  • Stone Cold followed closely by The Rock.
  • It works no doubt about it. If you are just chasing the scale to a number, you might not see the loss you want but you will lose weight. If you want to be fitter, wear smaller clothes and look better all around, than I highly recommend it.
  • The highest I saw on P90X with my heart monitor was on Legs & Back Day about the 2nd or 3rd week in and I burned 985. I was really busting it so I say it is possible. What I did is went with what my monitor said, even if it was low, that way I am consistent in recording and any overs/unders should balance out.
  • Something with a "defined" duration. If you don't like each other, or worse can't converse easily, then there is nothing as bad as being stuck for hours on end. Lunch, brunch, cup of coffee or an after work drink come to mind. No movies, no dinner (unless you have been talking a lot already), or anything that supposed to…
  • Do what you can. You will not be able to keep up - I can promise you that. I couldn't. That said, by the end if you keep at it it feels really good to be able to do pretty much what they do. My hardest was Yoga and that felt really good to be able to complete that disk towards the end of the 90 days. To this day I still…
  • HRM and make your own exercises. Another reason to do that is that the calories burned can vary significantly depending on your (my!) effort for any given exercise. Mine has varied by as much as 200 calories or more.

  • I have gained 9 lbs since December 1. I pretty much stopped logging during December until today. Really reduced the workouts, drank too much beer and ate awfully. The holidays make us all do that. I am not worried though because if I lost it before by logging, eating right and exercising I will lose it again and it will be…
  • I could weigh a 1000lbs as long as I wore the size clothes I wanted and looked the way I wanted too.
  • I eat mine back until I am full. I never try to eat all of them though to account for errors in my calories burned (i.e. as one poster noted - house cleaning - which I do not log that stuff). Personally, I have noticed that while I lost more weight initially eating less I have lost more overall eating most of them back. It…
  • No ah ha moment. I workout in the evening because I know myself and that getting up to work out earlier will never be on a consistent basis. Pick whatever time you think you most likely will consistently do.
  • The title said muscle weighs more than fat. I was trying to intervene before people started being jerks about it.
  • You will be ripped on here for saying muscle weighs more than fat. A pound is a pound. Muscle is more dense so you can appear smaller but weigh more. I would suspect water retention in your muscles as they repair themselves - it is normal and will even out.
  • If you put them on your computer after the date which you restored computer to then they will not show up. Restores are snapshots in time. If they were there before that then there is a problem with the restore image. You can try different restore points to see if you get them. FWIW, $59 a year will say you in the future.…
  • I weigh myself everyday first thing in the morning. My weight fluctuates up and down too as does everybody's. However, that is one of the points of MFP is to keep track of the progress over the long term not daily. All I worry about is whether the weight my 1-2 pound fluctuation occurs at is continuing to go down.
  • That depends. Is she doing it because she is a control freak and I can't do it "right"? That is a whole different issue. Either way something is wrong in a relationship when one person does all the work or bears all the stress.
  • Seems a little high for your height & weight. Make sure the HRM is set correctly. That said, I occasionally get big burns with my HRM as well as low burns. I just go with it and figure it will balance out. If it is accurate, there is nothing wrong with burning that many calories if you fuel your body properly.
  • I didn't do the nutrition plan either. If I recall is was something like 25%, 50% and 40% of calories should be from protein. Other people I know who exercise (not necessarily P90X) say 1g of protein per 1lb of body weight. I go by that although I do not hit it very often. I think a good ratio is probably like .75g per lb…
  • The only truth is that if you add on 500 calories right before you go to bed, you may go over on your allotment for the day because you won't burn it off. Otherwise I say fiction. Just look around the animal kingdom. Almost every mammal does what after it eats - sleep. We are the only ones with the weight problem.
  • I have experienced it and it usually occurs when I haven't been working out much and start again. Something to do with not enough carbohydrates. I don't worry about it as it passes quickly (for me) once I start working out regularly which makes me eat better as well.
  • Yes it is certainly okay to use just as a fitness plan. I didn't use their drink, their vitamins, etc. I didn't follow the eating plan either - used MFP. I lost 15 lbs, lost inches and gained muscle. If you follow the plan to a T I am sure you would get better results than without following.
  • Personally I weigh myself everyday at same time/conditions, but only "look" at the trend once a week.
  • I recommend at least one rest day a week. Whether or not you need it for muscle repair (depends on how hard you've been working it), having one rest day is good for the mind and your motivation to keep at it. Exercising 7 days a week and burning out after 2 months isn't going to really get you anywhere long term. Just…
  • Good job - I can tell!
  • You will be fine. You are back on track that is all that matters. I have weekends like that all the time. I did notice that as my eating and exercising has improved over a longer term, those occasional bad weekends almost have no lasting effect. The extra weight is likely from sodium or water.
  • My weight loss goes in cycles it seems. I will lose rapidly (solid 1.5 lbs) a week for a week, two or three, then level off and may even gain a bit, then cycle again with it coming off again. Persistence is the way to go. It will come off.
  • Portions are large and stick with something grilled. There are several options there. Obviously stay away from the Monte Cristo Hot Dogs!
  • You need a HRM. My calories burned varies in the P90x exercises themselves. Don't always burn the same amount.
  • I am a guy and think that anyone who comes on this site and tries to turn it into a dirty chat site is a loser and a tool. There are plenty of other places to do that with girls who are interested in that. She should be able to post what she wants without having those comments. I bet 1/2 of you that make those kinda…
