  • I used to walk but it's so hard on my knees. I joined the Y and have been swimming 5-7 days a week for about an hour each time. I do fairly rigorous exercises that I would never be able to do outside of the pool. I was self conscious at first but now I'm a "regular" and really enjoy myself. I eat low carb and drink lots of…
  • I've noticed I'm not as winded when I go up stairs. Also my clothes lay better. They don't ride up over my fat rolls as much. Little victories!
  • Went for standard blood work. Dr said I was diabetic. Decided I had enough. Cut out most carbs and sugar. Started exercising in the pool. Down 14 pounds and my knees and back are feeling so much better. Blood sugar numbers are almost down to normal. Can't wait for my next A1C test to see how much that has went down!…
  • I could have written your post! I was just diagnosed with diabetes a1c was 8.1. I started on a low carb diet and I am logging everything! I have my first check up on Tuesday. I can tell I've lost a few pounds already. My goal is to be off meds by spring. Hopefully I can start some sort of work out soon. My knees are bad so…

  • You look great! 10 years younger!! Thanks for the inspiration
  • Most days I do. Seems to be working fine for me.
  • I had the same thing a few years ago. Cortisone injections with wraps for about 3 weeks helped. Also an anti inflammatory meds. I now do stretches for my feet that seem to help. The orthotics were a complete waste of money. I spent $400 for 2 pieces of crap that stay in my dresser drawer. Invest in a good pair of shoes…

  • I know that if he ever files for Soc Security (not SSI). They will take it from him then. I know a lady that started getting back child support when her son was 35. Her ex filed for his retirement Soc Sec and they ran a check on him and found the arrearage he owed.
  • If you work hard...you can do it!! Good Luck!
  • I have set a timeline for my weight loss. But this time I am not beating myself up if I have a slip up. I used to "fall off the wagon" and just give up. Now with the help of MFP I am "getting back on the wagon" and I am doing great!! I joined in April 2012. My first goal was 50 pounds by my birthday (Oct). I am now at 45…
  • You look at the family pics from Christmas and realize you weigh as much as 2 of your sisters put together. :(

  • Why bother having friends on here then. My diary is private for a reason. I don't want people judging me if I decide to have a cookie or two. We are on here to motivate each other, not to judge or condemn. To be honest, I never look at anyones food diary. I've had a few friends dump me because my diary is not public. I…
  • I would say "I may be fat...but you're old...and I can lose weight and you'll still be old!" Just kidding. Sometimes the people closest to us are the rudest. My parents used to bribe me to lose weight when I was a kid. My mom used to tell my dad that I took after HIS side of the family because no one on her side of the…

  • I thought about having weight loss surgery but my insurance won't cover it. So I decided I would lose it without having surgery. It will take a lot of work but I know I can do it. I wish you luck!
  • I heard those words on August 5, 2005. My husband was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs). He fought for 11 1/2 months before he passed away. The only "good" thing about it was that we had a little time to say the things we needed to say. Going thru that has taught me that life really is short and worrying about small stuff…
  • Cute! I love how these dresses are in style. I bought one too. Hopin to wear it on vacation. I think you look great! That color works for you.
  • Hi! I agree with the other posts you should be eating more calories. I'm a single mom myself. Tough job but the most reqarding thing I've ever done. What part of MN? Spent lots of summers in the Bemidji area. Love it there! Good luck on reaching your goals. This site is wonderful way to do it.
