Gotta get the diet cleaned up so I have a chance at winning. Current: 5 ft 2 in, 165 pounds, 35% bf. Doing the LiveFit Training program with Jamie Eason. It's kicking my butt!

Thanks

Has anyone heard of the Perfect Portions scale that has codes for foods you put on it, so it measure more than weight? Someone on YouTube recommended it. I saw Target sells them. Just wanting an opinion.

Sometime if I don't have protein powder, I eat a can of plain water packed tuna.
-
Great job! One question. Have you had any loose skin issues? Did it all retract back?

If I am not using protien powder, tuna seems to be the only way to get protein without getting added fat or carbs since I am not eating it with anything else. Quite boring, but a can has about 20 grams of protien. Added something to it without adding too much extra fat or carbs would be great. I did try it with cottage…

There are several websites that have a macronutrients calculator. Here's one to try, macronutrientcalculator.com.

I have been eating a lot of tuna packed in water plain, Greek yogurt, boiled eggs. I have a time trying to get the right combinations and rarely hit my macros to the gram. My macro goal is 50 grams fat, 100 grams protein, and 150 carbs. Of course myfitnesspal has it set higher but the protein is hard to achieve as it is…

The protein/carb amounts are my question. Most macronutrient calculators plus myfitnesspal has my protein set for 131 grams per day without exercise but the blue zone way of eating says that is much too high. As for me: i strive for around 100 grams protein and 150 grams carbs. Eating some form of protein every few hours…

I think it was coming from a vegetarian's viewpoint.

Macros? Myfitnesspal has my protien set for 131 beforehand I exercise for the day. Is that what should aim for? I strive for around 100 grams and then I read that even 100 is too high and bad for you. I find I have more energy when I have some protein every few hours instead of a carb and I am not as hungry. (160 pound, 5…

My fitness pal has my protein set to 131 grams when I don't workout. I was told by some that it's too high. Would the amount be a target or a maximum allowed?
-
Thanks for the input. I don't feel so alone on this now. So many of my friends are currently being swayed by these wraps and greens.
-
I get my greens from adding spinach to my protien shake/smoothie plus eating salads.
-
I wasn't getting near 100 grams of protein a day until I added protein powder. And I was eating a full can of tuna, two boiled eggs, chicken and greek yogurt almost everyday.

Soda is one thing I have lived without for going on 3 years. And that is after being raised on Pepsi. I would rather eat my calories than drink them. I think I can do without mayo. I just had a burger without it and it was just as good.

I think macro counting makes sure your more balanced vs calorie counting, you can get all your calories from one source and leave the others out. I have been trying to macro count but it is sure hard to get the protein it suggests without protien shakes, etc, without going over in fat or carbs. I have been eating a lot of…

Glad to hear everyone's relationships survived/improved. Just my opinion- he and I both come from obese families and I think there are some men that feel their wife's fat is like a security blanket. I have seen my step dad sabotage my mothers efforts to lose weight with plenty of junk food but buy her a treadmill at the…

For me, when I stop thoroughly stretching after running last year, I developed an injury. Now I cannot run at all. I am good to walk. I found tightness in the right adductor that aided in the injury. A therapist worked the knot out, but I still tend to get the pain, just not as severe as before. So stretching these muscles…

Is it fat or bloating. Too much sodium or dairy causes me to seem fatter in the belly.

I start my day with a peanut butter, banana chocolate smoothie. Been doing this for over two years. 1/2 banana very ripe and if not frozen, add 2 ice cubes, handful spinach, 1/2 tablespoon all natural peanut butter, about 1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder (I like Hershey's found in baking section) and 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla…

I have always heard that we should stretch warmed up muscles, not cold. Like a rubber band- it stretches easier when warm, but if it is cold when stretched, it will break. Just a thought.

I don't think I could keep up.

Osteitis pubis (pubic bone shift at the symphysis causing pain with each step), spondylolisthesis (L5 veterbra not attached to spine, and slipped forward) and knee issues. I currently do some restorative yoga and spend some time sort of inverted with my legs up a wall while lying down. I have a few good days here and there…

I would want one to see if vitamins really have what it says it has. It make cause some companies to shut down due to false advertising. Think of the juice companies claiming 100% juice and we could see if it really is.

I just read about this in a magazine and went to the website and watched the video. I always thought there needs to be something that tells you the calories and fat in homemade foods more easily. More than that- find out if those packaged foods really have in it waht they claim to have.
