whip up an egg, spray an oven safe fry pan, add egg, salsa and parm or low fat cheese and place under broiler until done. You can add bacon chips, ham, canadian bacon ....I usually have this with a half an onion bagel.

My motivation is age and condition of my body. I will be 80 in Dec and a weight heavy body is not conducive to good health. I don't worry so much how I look, I worry about how I feel and if weight loss makes me look better then that is another reward. I workout M,W & F plus I do all my gardening except lawn. My work out…

I smear mine with a tsp of Ken's Lite Asian Sesame w/ginger and soy and broil.
-
My favorite is Ken's Lite Asian Sesame with Ginger and Soy. I get the ready made asian salad mix, add dressing, a few chopped almonds. Try coating salmon with the dressing before broiling...yummy.

Baked with butter and Nature's Seasoning.....or peeled, cube, place in zip loc with little olive oil and Montreal Steak Seasoning, bake at 400.

My favorite breakfast is a frittata made from quarter cup of chopped spinach, 1/2 chopped roma tomato, 1 egg, tbs parm cheese, tbs chopped green onions. In a little olive oil, saute the spinach, tomato and onion. Whip egg add a little garlic powder or seasoning of choice, pour over spinach mixture, sprinkle with cheese…

I freeze mine. Wrap frozen in a moist paper towel and microwave until heated through.

I'm 79 (80 in Dec). I've restarted after a 4 mos. hiatus. This time it is for real. Eating right and doing metabolic exercises. Hope this thread stays active because it looks really supportive.

I have to worry about too much protein because of my kidneys. MFP's count is probably close to what I should have.
-
Why no protein? I seem to end up the day with left over carbs and no protein. Usually I can even out but I would like something with no protein and have it be somewhat nutritional.

I mourn ice cream. It is addictive so I really have to watch the intake so I just stay away during the weigh loss period. I do crave something sweet in general and fruits don't cut it.

Other than the sugar, exactly what is in soda drinks that is bad for you? What about carbonated water like LaCroix? Is that bad for you?

Interesting read and discussion. I am into metabolic exercising which consists of 2 sets of 10 of planks, lunges, squats and 10 # weight lifting for 10 mins., 3 x a week. I hope to increase this gradually so I can start and two sets of 30 and work down to the 10 within the 10 min sessions. I will be 80 in Dec. Will let you…

It takes a lot of will power and you just don't get over the discipline needed to continue your maintenance. I have noticed that I don't crave certain foods anymore and have reduced portion sizes. People look at you differently, in a good way. Am trying to get over the yoyo weight problem.

Thanks so much for all the info on Paleo. I have been a bit confused on what's allowed and what's not. I ended up going with as many fresh vegs as possible and limit the processed foods. In other words clean eating as I possibly can and limit the calories.
-
Flippy, I agree with you 100%. What some people don't understand is that if you turn the problem over to God, he won't fail you. Don't you agree?
-
Yivs, you pray each morning with breakfast and ask for God's help in meeting your goals. Worth a try right?

Breakfast drink of 8oz coconut milk, 1 TBS powdered unsweetened cocoa, 1/2 C of strawberries, 1 TBS chopped walnuts, 2 pkg stevia, 5 ice cubes in a blender.

The best red cabbage I ever tasted was on a cruise. I asked the chef what he put in it and he wanted me to guess. I swear I couldn't figure it out because it was a very subtle. He finally told me it was an ever so pinch of cinnamon. I was really shocked because cinnamon is a strong spice. I now saute it with a little wine,…

I've been mourning the death of my husband for 1/1/2 years now. You don't have to be a mind reader to determine that I have drowned my pain in comfort food. Living in Louisiana is tough on the tummy. Not only are there good eats everywhere but loving to cook makes it even harder to stay away from food binges. In my many…
