  • My husband and I go out to eat once a week, and we have picked tonight as the night this week. We always get the same thing: dinner salad with a tuna steak on top. It is sooooooo good! Since we are regulars, we usually get extra veggies and some fruit tossed in there, too.
  • We're pescetarians, but I'm sure it would be great with some lean meat---a one-dish meal at that point! I may try it with shrimp sometime.
  • Hi, Tracee! :flowerforyou: Welcome!!
  • That sounds very tasty! My husband and I will be trying that soon.
  • I agree. If we never let ourselves have a little treat now and again, we'll have a really hard time keeping a positive attitude, I think. We also went out last night. A brand new restaurant opened in town, and we just had to check it out. I had grilled tuna...not so bad, right? Well, I also shared a cheese plate, had a…
  • I remember that moment. Unfortunately, I didn't have the get-up-and-go you do, and I gained another 10 since then. I'm really trying now, though. I think this website is really going to help.
  • As long as your not vegan, try what I had for lunch today. It was awesome!! (First time trying it, so I'm excited. ) Take 1/2 of a whole wheat pita pocket and stuff it with baby spinach, fresh mozzarella (watch your portions!), tomato slices, shredded carrots, sprouts, and pesto (portion control, again...a…
  • I always park far away and trek across the lot. Unless it's raining. Then I just stay in the store longer and walk in there.
  • I live in Cookeville, and I am fairly new to the area. I hatehatehate working out, but I have found that I can make myself do it pretty willingly if I have someone to workout with me. I prefer playing sports and walking to going to the gym, but I am a member at NFC. If you live in the area and might be interested in…
  • Yeah, an hour and a half east of Nashville isn't the best place to try to eat like I do. The grocery store is fine; it's the restaurants I have trouble with. I just want to scream, "There are vegetarian options other than Fettuccine Alfredo!" They could at least *try* to put some healthy meat-less options on the menu.…
  • I am so excited to find this group! I currently substitute teach, but I will have my own classroom next year. As a vegetarian, I can't always rely on the cafeteria's offerings. While they serve many very healthy meals in our area, most of them are meat. It's tough for me to figure out what to bring in my lunch that…
  • When I first stopped eating meat, I got sick. I could only stay well when I ate meat. I was teaching 1st grade at the time, so germs were everywhere. As time passed, though, I cut out the chicken noodle soup on sick days and ended up with no meat at all (except fish occasionally). Finally, I have been able to stay healthy…
  • Goal weight loss in lbs - 30 lbs # of Kids (or do you want kids)- haven't decided yet How long have you been a vegetarian or vegan? - 9 months Age- 26 Anything else you want to share - My husband convinced me to be a vegetarian. I never liked meat a whole lot and I saw it as a great opportunity to get in shape, so I quit…
  • I will work hard and give this a shot. I read in a magazine that the best way to get and stay on track with weight loss is to give yourself unofficial 48-hour goals...like, "I will go to the gym for an hour each other next two days." I am going to try that and see if it helps me reach my goal for the 4th. I have tank top…
  • Now THAT's the kind of motivation I need...none of that sweet-talkin' WW stuff. haha
  • You can do it! If you need motivation, just look at your kids. You want to be there to see them graduate high school, get married, etc. Lose weight to be healthy. I know how hard it is to stay motivated. I tried WW a few times and just couldn't keep it up. They were too nice. haha I am hoping that I can finally get…
  • Thanks for the welcomes and support!
  • I know where the interstate exit is for that. Maybe sometime this summer we can get together in Nashville or at a state park and do some walking.
  • Where are you in TN? I live in Cookeville.
  • Hi, all! One of my friends recommended this site to help me get back on track with my dieting. I have gained more weight than I am proud to say over the past few years, and now I need to get healthy again. I took 20 credits a semester to get through college faster, and now I work 2 jobs. I know my problem is not having…
