In college we would wake up and say who was that guy I was kissing...

In my grown up healthy world, I woke up today feeling like i cheated on someone. I actually felt like like i cheated on myself! I did so great all week and broke my plateau ofter 3 months...My husband , not knowing, suprised me with a date to our FAVORITE italian restaurant.

I would like to say I did well -- skipped the calamari and went with steamers in a tomato broth-- then we actually EACH got our own entree which we never do --

I CLEARED MY FREAKING PLATE! Ate all of the chicken piccata and half my bowl of pasta ... all while nibbling on olive oil soaked bread that was pre soaked in olive oil...and picking off of his plate.

IT WAS ALL SO LUXURIOUSLY SINFUL -- I DONT FEEL GUILTY BECAUSE I ENJOYED EVERY BITE.

The super kicker of my sinful evening, i have a 5k to run in T minus 3 hours...... i may puke. But totally worth it.

My point? I need to let go sometimes and just enjoy food and not feel bad.

I agree. If we never let ourselves have a little treat now and again, we'll have a really hard time keeping a positive attitude, I think. We also went out last night. A brand new restaurant opened in town, and we just had to check it out. I had grilled tuna...not so bad, right? Well, I also shared a cheese plate, had a little mac n cheese, and a beer. Honestly, though, I don't feel guilty. I know I can't go out like that every day, so I know I won't eat like that all the time. It was a nice little treat and nothing more. Next time I do go there, I'll probably have the tuna again but with broccoli and a side salad. And water. I had actually had 9 glasses of water before dinner, so I think I earned my Miller Lite. :drinker:

(Wo)Man cannot live on baked chicken breast & salad alone. We have to enjoy life too! :drinker:

It may be a good thing! All those carbs that you ate last night may give you a lot of energy to run the 5K. Have a good run!!

Must have been the night for bad dinners out. We went out and I had caesar salad, chicken stuffed with goat cheese and sun dried toamato, with wild rice and beans, washed it down with 9 oz of red wine and then we split a dessert which was a delicious brownie topped with ice cream and caramel sauce.

If I ate like that every meal I would not be where I am now.....more like where I was
