I have this too. The only thing that helps for me is getting stronger (making sure to keep excellent form when doing leg workouts) and losing weight. I worry about this for me because my mom had her knee replaced recently and needs to get the other one done as well. She is a heavier, sedentary woman so I think that does…

Maybe you can incorporate some things into your walk. I did a boot camp once that we would do a run/walk around a path and at determined points along the path we would do different exercises. At one point there might have been a park bench that we did tricep dips on or maybe there's a kids jungle gym that you can do…

Thanks for the replies! Joanne...I like your idea about the Smith machine. I will have to try that (or find something else to help stabilize me when I'm doing them at home). I'm going to ease off doing as many lunges for now and try to work up to doing more.

spiros12...nice! White water rafting sounds like fun! I had hoped to get more cool replies on this post and see what people were looking forward to. Oh well...

I love "Move Your Body" by Eiffel 65...it's an older song but it's got a perfect beat and obviously the lyrics help motivate me! You can check it out on YouTube to see if it would work for you. Another one I like is "I Keep On Rollin'" by Rollergirl

I got it mostly because of my ankle and knee, though...I needed the extra cushioning that a treadmill gives. Before that I would jog outside but I was pretty self-concious. I guess…

I'm glad this topic was posted...mine was not good either...it started out with a hike which was great but then we went over to our friends place and ate Chinese food. And then I had wine on Mother's day which causes me to go ahead and eat more than I should. I am at a point I'm ready to say I will not go out to eat or…

138 is enough for me...I can't imagine being lower than that but I want to keep more muscle

I'm 175 and size 14 I've noticed for me: 170's = ~size 14 160's = ~size 12 150's = ~size 10 I've not gotten below 150 so I'm not sure if this will continue to hold true under 150

For me having an iPod really helped when walking outside. I stress about people coming from the opposite direction and whether or not I should say hello or not. The iPod helps me since I don't feel like I have to say anything to people...it helps reduce most of the anxiety. I will still not jog outside though...I just…
