Starting C25K

Hi, I've done some previous running but let my laziness get the better of me. I would love to get back into running and I'm starting C25K this week on top of Jillian Michaels Body Revolution (: I'm registering for a local 5k in July to aim towards something.
I'm quite self-concious and I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to overcome the "fear" of running outside? =/ I know it sounds silly, but I just need something to hopefully motivate me and give me a boost.
Anything from successes with the program or any goals achieved would be nice to hear (:
Thanks,
Lauren

Hey
I started the C25k in Jan, I was also worried about running outside, but I found that if you pick a quiet time to begin with it isnt too bad. I started the very first one on a sat morn around 8am! It got easier after the first few goes. I actually managed to run the 5k within 7 weeks in an actual run with others! I've recently restarted it with my neighbour as she didnt want to do it alone, so maybe if you can get a friend to go with you, it might take away the "fear".
I dunno if this helps, but hopefully it will0 -
Thanks for your input (: I think I'm just going to have to push myself and just do it :L Congratulations on your success! Thank you again (:0

no problems, best of luck with it, to get out and do the first one is always the hardest then after that its so much easier0

I just started both C25K and Jillian Michaels 30 day shred last week. She is tough! I also do not like to jog outside so I got a treadmill. I got it mostly because of my ankle and knee, though...I needed the extra cushioning that a treadmill gives. Before that I would jog outside but I was pretty self-concious. I guess just remember that you are not the only one that is like that...there are many of us out there that struggle with that. Ignore everyone else and concentrate on yourself.0
