  • thank you for sharing :flowerforyou:
  • I think it's different for everyone. For me, I can now see some visible changes -- overall I look smaller, my belly doesn't stick out as much, my bra doesn't get stuck in my back fat rolls anymore. My clothes definitely feel looser, and fitting better. Size 22 jeans are fitting comfortably again -- before they were either…
  • I count a tbsp or 2.
  • I don't eat iceberg because of the taste. My preference so far is using baby spinach in my salad. It's a challenge for me to get my veggies in every day, so I'd rather eat veggies packed with nutrients.
  • anytime!
  • Anxiety really sucks! Mine is mostly stress induced, and it creeps up every now and then, but daily exercise really helps to release a lot of that.
  • I was on Lexapro (escitalopram, which is almost the same as Celexa, aka cilatalopram), and just like Paxil, it is an SSRI which can make it difficult to lose weight or gain it. I had been on and off it for 4 years. The very first time I took it, in 6 months I had gained 10 pounds. At other times, when I attempted to lose…
  • I just upgraded from the one I had and bought the Livestrong LS10.0E, and I love it. It's amazing....it's better ergonomically -- the pedals are closer together which keeps your hips aligned properly so there is less strain on your back and knees. Of course, the foot motion is better. It has a steadier, more fluid motion…
  • Yes, on days I work, it's on an empty stomach...and that's because I just can't get up any earlier just so I can eat. I drink a bunch of water before I start so at least I'm hydrated. Within 20 minutes of my workout I have my protein drink, and then eat breakfast when I get to work. On my day off and weekends, I have my…
  • Some ellipticals aren't designed to keep your foot moving in it's natural rocking motion, like when your are running -- which is the motion the elliptical simulates. The first three I owned didn't do this, and my feet would feel numb every time. I bought a new elliptical in January, and don't have this problem anymore. I…
  • I am NOT a morning person, but I had to change. I started doing my exercise after work, but found I wasn't sleeping well at night. This is when I used to always exercise, in the past, so I don't know what has changed. Anyway, I figured I'd rather have that energy during the day, so I made the switch. I have to make sure I…
  • I work full-time and have kids as well. If I spent what little free time I have on here commenting on everyone's status updates, I wouldn't have time for anything else. Not to mention, by the time I get home from work, get supper done, get my little one settled for the night, get myself settled, logged in my food +…
  • i use milk for mine -- i've tried water....totally gross! I also find the blender the easiest and best way to mix the protein powder, and it really does taste better!
  • 220 - minus your age = your MAXIUM target heart rate. For an effective aerobic workout you want to aim for 75-85% of that number.
  • I remember as a kid people saying we were "big girls." I look back at pictures, my sister had always been on the chunky side - but she wasn't a roly-poly. As for me, I wasn't a stick, but I was slender -- much like my daughter is. It breaks my heart to look at these pictures because I want to go back and tell those little…
  • for super soft skin after a shower, apply oil (let it absorb a bit), then apply your favorite lotion!
  • thank you so very much......that is so nice to hear! :flowerforyou:
  • *sighs* .....i live vicariously through my romance books -- The Game by Brenda Joyce, definitely a good one! :blushing:
  • Wow, and you're a big one! Uhh....guy, I mean. LOL
  • Exactly! Can you slap him for me!?!
  • No, and I don't think it would work anyway, even if I managed by some miracle to get him to go. He admits his sex drive is lower than the normal guy, but he doesn't think it's a problem. He has low testosterone, so sex is non-existent when he's not using his patches, and barely existent even when he is. He doesn't believe…
  • That's how it is with my fiance....we've been together 7 1/2 years and have 2 kids. Even in the beginning it was about once every 1-2 weeks, and then maybe twice every 1-2 months.....now it's.....I can't even remember -- i think something like 3 times since August. He never initiates, wants me to -- but I can't tell you…
  • You could try sewing some cloth together to make a tube around the strap, but leave the section open where the lead is. Just a thought.
  • I'd like to get a heart rate monitor, but I haven't set a goal for when yet. I know at my one year goal I'm thinking maybe an iPod touch.
  • so after exercise, you are only getting 200 to -100 calories a day??
  • It's not that fructose is bad for you -- we eat fruit, which contains fructose in it's natural form. It's the manufacturing process of HFCS that changes the fructose by making it readily available. Naturally occuring fructose has "an extra step" before it can be used.
  • In regard to HFCS -- this article was written 2 years ago. There are still studies being done, but I believe, from what I've read so far-- it is definitely not good for you. Here's an example: http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S26/91/22K07/
  • I am not an emotional eater, and I have been more irritable these last 6 weeks. I was expressing my frustrations about some personal issues with a good friend, who is a social worker, and she explained that the changes I'm making in my life -- exercising, eating healthier, making myself healthier overall -- is similar to…
  • I agree, the best thing to is get a scale. There is such a difference in serving size for deli meats. Some are 6 slices for 2 oz, some are 2-3 slices. I have a scale and it's come in pretty handy for many foods I've had to measure.
  • 3:10 to Yuma Person 1: What the hell's this? Person 2: That's a low cholesterol meal. Happy Valentine's. Person 1: God! Are you trying to kill me? Person 2: If I was gonna kill you, I'd use my hands.
