Bump for inspiration :)

I've had 2 recurring dreams most of my life. 1. I am in college, & its the end of the semester, & I am still registered for a class I forgot to drop & haven't gone to all semester. My GPA is going to suffer mightily & I won't get into grad school. - this dream has not occurred as often tho, since I GOT into grad school (36…

You know what it means. If you don't ask the CDC.

Re-read: "probably" The skill of Reading, is something most people wish they had. It may just benefit you in life.

They seem pretty rude to me. I am so glad I had the $ to buy my own gym equipment & set it up in my house, & avoid people like this. People like that are probably the ones who leave Methicillin Resistant Staph aureus (MRSA) on all the equipment, anyway, uugh.

I eat my entire meal before I go. Then I bring an already popped bag of popcorn to munch on while there. If it a sit down dinner, I have only a salad as the main course with dressing on the side that I dip the lettuce in.

Congratulations! You look great! Your children will thank you someday, for setting an example & now you know what they should be eating, & how much when they become just a little older (& start challenging you).

Huh? If I annoyed someone, I apologize.

Yeah. I had a woman at work tell me "you'll never be the weight you were at 44" (I'm 56 now). She had only known me 6 months - this was 3 years ago (so never knew me before). Can you say B!tch?!?

I am able to walk 2 miles. I couldn't do even 1 mile a month ago. (Thats a big deal for me with a hip replacement & arthritis in my other hip & knee (it swells if not careful), & my arrrgh weight! I so HATE arthritis! Its why I got obese in the first place!

When I ate salad for Thanksgiving, & everyone else had Thanksgiving dinner. However, I feel cursed around these skinny mini people who can be athletic & I am loaded with arthritis (before I was even fat). :(

I like the Walden farms 0 calorie ranch.

Alcohol is a diuretic, it dries (dehydrates) you out. Similar to the peeing effect people have when they use diuretics such as LASIX (furosemide), or hydrochorothiazide, spironolactone etc. However, in excess alcohol over time causes liver failure (cirrhosis), those other drugs aren't known to do that specifically, but of…

I threw away my birthday cake from work they get me every year (it's expensive, so threw it away when I got home). I actually only take a picture of it, have one piece & give the rest to my skinny husband & the dogs. But this year, the administration let the local pigs at work carve into it before I even GOT to work, & I…

Well I was in the same boat. They told me the same thing. I didnt have a pool either. I waited 7 years, lost 90% of my fitness, gained 60-70#, it was a nightmare! Used a cane for 5 years, & ended up in a wheelchair for the last year. It sucked, plain & simple. All I can tell you, is I had a hip resurfacing done. Theres…

Thank you nsaglian for your thorough & thoughtful post. To give me more info to read about, would you happen to know the names of the biochemical pathways that metabolize alcohols? I've taken biochem, but not from a human nutritional aspect, so I am weak in that area (& organic chemistry was 30 years ago, lol!)…

"Happy to share the program that I do if anyone is interested. Everyone is a bit different in terms of what they can tolerate, it took me almost a full year to figure out all the exercises that worked and didn't work for me. It was hard giving up squats and deadlifts." I would like to know what you are doing. Squats (even…

This thread is old, but arthritis caused me to gain the weight in the first place, & like a bad friend I never got rid of the weight (alot of weight gained 60# over 7 years as they told me I was too young for a hip replacement). Since I lost so much conditioning, it took a year of rehab to really, feel 95% normal (I still…
