My fiance works nights as an RN - when he's on nights, he works 3 nights of the week (not all consecutive) and lives "like a normal person" the other 4 days. He eats when he's awake, no matter what time it actually is. I think that's the only way for you to have any sense of normalcy.

If that is your doctor's recommendation, follow it and do not substitute the advice of people in an online forum. Anorexia is a serious issue and your weight gain should be closely monitored by your physician or an eating disorder specialist. I would continue to track at least calories if I were you (as long as it won't…

Yes. Growing up, it was unacceptable to not finish my plate. I think that has caused me a lot of issues in my adult life, and I am still working through them. First step is definitely allowing yourself to throw things away and/or save them for later. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I was waiting for someone to point that…

My fiance's grandmother does this, but with fresh donuts from a bakery by her house. A full dozen gourmet delicious donuts, delivered to us EVERY time she visits. We usually keep two and split one for dessert for the next two nights, and I take the rest to work. Plenty of people there appreciate them and most importantly,…

I agree with all of the comments here. I just have one thing to add: If you feel bad or guilty for not eating the half of whatever he's offering you because it's wasteful (not sure if you do, but I just wanted to address it since no one else did) - thank him for the offer and wrap it up and put it in the…

Just an FYI, there is no group search anymore. If you want people to find your group, you should include the link in your post.

I'm doing a colon cleanse on March 25th. Because I have a colonoscopy. That is the only reason you would everrrr need to cleanse your colon. Jesus. I can't believe this is starting so early in the morning. I haven't even had my coffee yet.

I agree with @auddii, *unless* you're tracking sodium for a medical reason. Then I would log the salt.

I add 3/4 cup cooked lentils to 1 lb browned ground beef and make sloppy joes with it. Use a can of manwich or the from-scratch recipe at the link... budgetbytes.com/2011/06/sloppy-joes-plus

Annnd what does this have to do with Actuaries?
-
Be careful with the OJ - I believe most liquids you should be measuring with a liquid measuring cup, not weighing.
-
Damn I was getting kiiiinda jealous that your FP came with a whisk attachment, then you had to say it was a Cuisinart instead. Damnit haha I wanted that attachment!!!

Oh I forgot - I use my food processor for pretty much everything. I shred cheese, "grind" meat by pulsing a few times, make black bean burgers, shred cabbage and carrots to make slaw, etc. etc. My fiance got it for me for Christmas in 2013, but I believe he paid $150 USD. Here's a link to the one I have (they make it in…

Not sure of the intricacies of making falafel, but I make hummus in my KitchenAid 9-cup food processor just fine. The trick is to remove the "skins" of the chickpeas to get it smooth and creamy. I think it might be over your budget, but they do make smaller versions. I live by my KitchenAid products. They stand the test of…

@_john_, I'm confused.. where did you get Canada from?

We're going to Cancun! :)

If you go to the item page (http://www.subway.com/Menu/Product.aspx?CC=USA&LC=ENG&ProductId=133&MenuId=35&MenuTypeId=1) and click the yellow "Calculate Yours" button below the nutritional information, you can customize the nutritional information. For sandwiches with Cheese in the name, I believe it's included. Edit: I…

I know it wasn't directed at me, but thanks for the reminder! I usually go up 1-3 lbs the week before my time of month. THIS is that week, and I'm only up 1/2 lb! That makes me feel better :) :) :)

Hopefully all this water I've been drinking will help flush out some of the salt / water weight & I'll have a good weigh in tomorrow, despite working out tonight. *fingers crossed*

<-- 385 days Most of my friends list is over the 2 year mark. It's not that uncommon. @Mrsjenningsjr, What are you trying to do? There's already an official MFP-coordinated "adopt a n00b" thread...

I always use frozen banana instead of ice cubes, to give it a creamy consistency and so that I can freeze leftovers without it turning into a solid block of ice.
-
2 frozen bananas 2/3 cup milk or water (just enough to make it blend easily -- add less if you want to eat it with a spoon, or more if you want to drink it through a straw) 2 tbsp cocoa powder 1 container Dannon light & fit Toasted Coconut nonfat greek yogurt Makes 2 pretty large "milkshake" smoothies. Add chocolate…

I just recently made a fried fish sandwich with cod. It was SO good! (I didn't log that meal, so IDK how many calories it was, but it was sooo worth it.) http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/10/fried-fish-sandwiches-with-creamy-slaw-and-tartar-sauce-recipe.html

Haven't read any other responses, but the Chili Con Turkey from that book is AMAZING (with a few modifications, of course). Just had to throw that out there! :)

No problem at all! I search through Amazon reviews for the flavors I want to try, too. I want to know what other people think before I spend $50+ on a 5lb container of it!
-
Sure! Let's see... (going through my Amazon order history to refresh my memory): Cookies & Cream -- ehh. Not crazy about the small chunks of cookie in the shake. Good flavor though. Might be good if you're the type that makes frozen shakes with protein powder, frozen milk/water, etc. Vanilla Ice Cream -- good, but a little…

I love ON GS - I've tried probably 10 flavors and most of them are delicious! If you like it, and it works for you price-wise and calorie/macro-wise, stick with it! It's hard enough finding a brand you enjoy the taste of! Currently finishing up my 5lb container of Chocolate Mint and have a 5lb container of Chocolate…

*like* !! Way to go finding what works for you! I swear, holding off on eating breakfast until later in the morning helps so much!! I find that when I eat breakfast earlier, I just want to snack snack snack all day!
-
Also - maybe try eating a banana or other small fruit in the morning at 4:30am to keep your blood sugar up and get you going for the day, followed by a smaller breakfast at 9am? I also find that if I include some fat in my breakfast (bacon, NOT non-fat yogurt, etc.) it keeps me fuller, longer.

You say your job is fairly active - may I ask for some details about what you put into MFP to get your 1400 calorie goal? I ask because I'm 5'3" tall, currently weigh 125lbs, and I'm losing at 1480 calories. If you are taller than me or heavier than me, you can most certainly eat more! Your height? Your current weight?…
