  • Only 8 grams!! All the other ones have around 15 to 20 so it is definitely a huge difference:)
  • OP, you need to do what is right for you and what you can sustain. I thrive on a low carb diet more than a regular one. I have PCOS and have to stay low carb because that is the only way I lose. Believe me, I have tried to eat in moderation, eat just healthy carbs, no matter what I either stalled or gained. I gained 20lbs…
  • It is very possible, but it does matter your weight and how hard you are actually doing the workout. Most people saying it isn't possible are below 200 lbs, so for them, they prob would not hit a burn that high, but for being over 200lbs, definitely possible. I have a body media fit, and I would hit around 700 doing the…
  • I became addicted to the honey roasted fresh ground PB from Whole Foods, yum! Also, making nut butter is super simple, for any of you that have a food processor at home. if you process them enough, the oil in the nuts are "released" (sorry don't know best way to put it) and turns them into nut butter and you can control…
  • The problem is PCOS is so different from person to person. Some women experience all the horrible symptoms, some don't, I think it all depends on your hormone levels, metabolism, and lifestyle. For a lot of ladies with PCOS, weight loss and a diet low in sugar subsides a lot of the symptoms we deal with having PCOS,…
  • ^^^^Agreed. Yes it is very true a lot of people out there can be lazy, but to blanket everyone with that statement is not ok. You say people use medical conditions as excuses, but unless you have one you have no idea how difficult some conditions make losing weight. I have PCOS and it is very difficult to lose weight. I…
  • Excuse me, don't call me a liar, you don't know everything just because you can look up an article and you have no idea how it is where I live. My farmers market is not big, there are probably 4 vendors selling produce, so yes it is very easy to go and talk to the farmers that are there. And I have asked each one of them…
  • This is extremely sad, and just down right wrong. The farmer's markets in my area are made up of a bunch of local farmers in the area, and every one I have asked who I have bought produce from have stated they don't use chemicals and pesticides but can't afford to be certified organic. For me I would take that over the…
  • I agree the severity of addictions are not the same, but for someone who eats large amounts of sugar, they will most likely have some bad side effects when they cut down or eliminate. I have PCOS so I do eat low carb and do not have sugar cravings because I just don't really eat any, but when I was eating fruit and eating…
  • I would suggest trying to find alternatives for yogurt and such things, they are definitely not low in carbs, and if you are only eating 5% carbs, you probably are not alloted all that much and most likely why you keep going over. That is most likely taking up a lot of the carbs you get. Also, the more you eat that doesn't…
  • Hey hun! I do Keto, which is high fat low carb - because of the PCOS, this is the only thing that seems to work well for me. I believe I have my macros set at 5% carbs/75% fat/20% protein. I have found products on netrition that have been very helpful, they are mixes for bread, desserts, BBQ sauce, you name it, they…
  • Stretch marks don't just come from gaining weight, they usually happen when you gain and lose, your skin has been stretch from being over weight and you will most likely see remnants of it the more you lose, especially for ones that have lost alot. Hydrate your skin and take care of it, and they should diminish a lot :)
  • If you are eating low carb, check out the website netrition.com, they have a bunch of low carb products, and are excellent! I have been making pancakes with the Carbquik (similar to bisquick) and for 2 carbs a pancake, can't beat it!!
  • I have a medical condition, it isn't that easy unfortunately lol I wish I could eat like an average person, but from trial and errror over the years, the low carb is the only things that gets the weight moving down. This is the first time it hasn't so that has me questioning the cal amount I have. I do see from everyone's…
  • Thanks for the advice bev, alot of the things you mentioned are too high carb to eat a lot of in a day for me. because my cals have been set so high, I have alot of food to get in and that means a lot more meat and dairy than anything because by the time I eat my veggies I don't have much carbs left to work with. I do use…
  • This was the only test I got done besides getting a body scan for an accurate BF%. I have a feeling I need to go see an endocrinologist to see if there is more wrong than just the PCOS. Everytime I get my thyroid checked they tell me it is in the normal range, but I keep hearing you have to get your T4 tested to be sure…
  • Thanks for the link! I have done the calculators and once cutting my 20% off my TDEE, I still got 2000 cals, and I still wasn't losing, but now that I think about it I don't think I was really gaining either. At the time I was told to keep being patient and it would start working, but after being at a stand still yet…
  • Unfortunately Kev not so much lol I felt that once I started eating low carb that my stomach has definitely gone down, but then I get on the scale and I am way up. I thought maybe it could be water from strength training but I thought one of the perks of low carb was not having water retention! I don't think I looked like…
  • I agree with you all too, when I was told that number I felt it was a bit high, but I did fast like I was supposed to and he had me rest a bit before doing the test, so not sure why it wouldn't be accurate. When I did the IPOARM calculators they suggested, it still had me at around 2000. The testing is definitely not cheap…
  • I do work out, I haven't been going as hard as I used to because I was told to eat that much WITHOUT exercise cals, and I have had a hard time hitting that amount of cals alone, especially since going low carb because my appetite has definitely diminished. The past few weeks I have been trying to walk at least 3 to 4 days…
  • BUMP!! ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!!?? Please :flowerforyou:
  • Have you ever tried a flax or almond flour crust? Also I see alot of people use cauliflower but have never tried that one myself. Also, if you are on pinterest, if your search for low carb pizza some stuff should come up and be helpful. I just bought some low cabr baking products on netrition, one says to use for pizza…
  • Thanks heybales!! I am definitely one of the ones that struggle with keeping to my routine, need to stop letting things in my day effect my workout schedule, just need to go home and do it!! lol
  • I agree with this. I have read plenty of threads where there is always some that come in and promote eating fast food or talk about how they eat it daily and such, but don't bother to mention that the other 80% of their diet is good whole foods. For people that are new to this site or clueless about dieting may not…
  • I have never heard of having any issues with spinach, I usually eat a lot of it too and it has done nothing but good things for me. I too think you should be fine.
  • This is exactly why you should read food labels regardless if it comes from fast food or the grocery store. There are multiple products out there of the same exact thing (or looks to be the same) that really are NOT the same. You can find ice cream with 15 ingredients or one with 3, most people would pick the one with less…
  • Also, I don't know how many of you are cabbage eaters, but that could be a big culprit. I know for myself when I eat a lot of cabbage, it can get to my stomach. It makes you gassy, and that will bother your stomach. There are definitely certain veggies (cruciferious) ones that have that effect on some people. ETA - just…
  • This is not specifically directed to the person I quoted just on the same topic Not sure if everyone opened the link, but there were alot of products in the ingredients list that are not normal products you would use at home. The article bolded the bad things in each ingredient, in the chicken, ranch, and so forth.…
  • thank you for the input! I am going to look into keto more, like I said, I wasn't really looking to follow it, but just from what I have seen around here seems similar to what I am doing. I am trying not to be too restrictive when it comes to veggies, have eliminated the fruit for now and obviously the starchy carbs like…
  • You can edit recipes on the app, I know on the iPhone all the way to the right is a button that says more and you can edit everything you have manually put in. when in the recipe, all you do is click on the food item you want to edit for serving size and it will bring up the nutrition info and will let you change the…
