Trim first then build. Muscle will grow but hidden under the fat. You don't want to start building a lot of muscle and then go on the scale and find that you weigh more.

I'm on 1,200 calories right to drop weight for a jiu jitsu tournament. I snack on celery and drink water when I start to feel hungry. It's tough fighting the urge.

It works. Whatever you do, don't stop. You'll start to see progress. You may want to incorporate Fartlek ( Speed Play) into your running regiment. It'll make you sweat.

Too much emphasis on water weight. Water will forever exist in the body. To lose it, is just temporary. You'll hear fighters talk about losing water weight to make weight, to dehydrate. Eliminate it from your weight management if you are trying to go for the long term. I'm prepping for a tournament and I'm trying to lose…

Its all in what you eat. When you start trimming down, your abdominal muscle start to appear. Abdominal workouts only defines them and allows them to grow just a bit.

Intermittent fasting. You can schedule your intake accordingly depending on when you work out. You have a window of when you need to eat to sustain energy for your work out and a window of fasting. Pretty tough but can be done if you have strong will power.

My cardio consist of running back and forth from the couch to the pantry. Then sprints from the living room to the bathroom. The second part is where the real magic happens.
